Oops! Sorry Sarge! That's right, an Accord is a car, isn't it? But oh, to ride a bike year round. That's a luxury I never knew. Maybe when I retire I can live somewhere warm!

    Not that warm.

14 miles - once when it was 28 degrees, another time riding home it was 42 and pouring rain with a headwind.

In June, August and September it will be over 100.

It's not as nice as San Diego or Southern Ca, but at least I don't have to hang up my bike from November through February or ride a mountain bike with studded tires (there are those who do).

I actually think I only got really wet three or four times all winter. There were a few weeks of really cold days and some ugly winds, but that's about it.

Well, I happen to think it IS as nice as SD or SoCal! (And I'm originally from the Bay Area and Sonoma County.) They all have their pro's and con's, but I'm happy in CV. I even like fog!! One thing you can say about where I live, the weather is usually predictable. Well, except for the past couple of weeks. My allergies are killing me...

But I'll let the thread go back to the subject at hand. Gas prices.

I actually fill my car up with premium since I do it so little. Today it was $3.55 at Chevron.

Kroger was "down" to $2.63 today. My husband and I both drove our cars there. I pulled up, he filled my tank, I pulled up a little bit while he held the nozzle, then I held the nozzle while he pulled up to fill his tank.

That way we got both cars filled - on "one" fill - and could use our Kroger discount!

    Smart girl, GlendaLL!

Sarge, we haven't hit the $3.00 mark yet. Ouch!

I paid $2.73 Friday then saw it for $2.71 today. Can't believe I'm letting pennies bother me! It's getting to be a contest! Where can you find the cheapest gas?

A few days ago I read an article over at Yahoo! News that says while gas prices are going to be climbing ever so higher in the weeks to come, they're not expected to exceed $4 a gallon anywhere in the country. So, I guess that's as comforting as it gets.

If you ask me, I don't think the gas prices are paying a lot for gas and this is just some cat and dog price war between the gas companies to see who can come out looking the cheapest at our expense.

    I paid $2.79 today.

JaimeMarie, do you mind if I ask where Scaryville is? I lived in Maine for 5 years, and the only connection I can make is to where Stephen King lives. Can I assume it's a joke?

I got it Monday for $2.93 ($2.90 with a car wash). That's THE cheapest station I've seen, and even that one went up 2 cents by yesterday. EVERYTING else up here is over the $3 mark from what I can see.

I was on my son's field trip the other day and one of the dads was talking about gas. He said that it was about time that gas went up...we've been having cheap gas for too long. Of course, he's a doctor. (By summer, it will probably be over $4.00 a gallon. We aren't going anywhere.)

Yesterday it was $3.39 and today it jumped to $3.59!!!! This is robbery. We wanted to take a short boat trip this weekend but with gas prices on the water well over $4.00 we may have to change our plans!

We've been so lucky where I live. While other cities near me have had gas at or above $3/gal, our gas stations have been steady at 2.89....until today. They shot up to 3.15 overnight. Figures.
