I know gas prices are skyrocketing but I was shocked today when I had to fill up. I paid $2.12 a gallon. How does this compare to other parts of the country? What are you paying and where? Just curious.

It's about $2.49 here! It's terrible! They're saying it will be more than $3 by this summer.

I paid $1.99 yesterday for "regular" at one of the cheapest gas stations in the area. Most places are well over $2, though.

Chicago suburbs... the cheapest one by me was $2.11 this afternoon... most places by me are $2.15-$2.25... heading out of town Wednesday afternoon, and it's sad that I'm looking forward to filling up down there for "only" $2... (fortunately, my car gets great mileage!)

I just paid $2.42 a gallon at a BP/Amaco yesterday evening and it was well over $22.00 when the pump stopped pumping.

Here in Arkansas, I found it for $2.
We just got back from vacation, and we saw it for $2.40 in northern New Mexico/southern Colorado. Thankfully we didn't need gas at the time. We ended up paying $2.29, though.

Luckily, I haven't had to fill an empty tank yet. If I'm filling an empty tank on $2.42 or more a gallon then I'm paying well over $32.00 for gas.

So far, we're not seeing any real relief in gas prices in the NE region of Illinois.

Wow can't believe the prices. Today in NJ it was 1.97 at the Exxon Station. Thank goodness I don't drive a great deal.

All grades just went up by about 9¢ so I paid $2.51 at the pump this morning for a grand total of $22.51 in gas though the tank wasn't completely on empty.

our prices go down on the weekends.....i guess they know they are going to get more traffic then.....but it is still well well over 2 bucks a gallon!

Our gas prices typically stay the same on the weekend for some strange reason. But, it's probably because the NE region of Illinois is so heavily populated they figure they can milk us of everything we're worth.

I got gas last night - the cheapest grade at the cheapest station around, and it was 2.46! The premium grade at this cheap station was 2.66. I didn't look at any of the more pricey places, but this station is always the cheapest around! This is one of the few reasons I DON'T like living in San Diego!

I had to get gas yesterday, only needed about half a tank, and still it was $16. I know that may not seem like much, but I drive a little car with a small gas tank, so I'm just really glad I wasn't on E.

I saw $2.39 on my way to work today... not the spot I usually get gas at, thank goodness... but right off the interstate, which is typically a bit higher priced...

Even here in Australia there has been information on the news saying that our petrol is going up, especially in the country and not to expect it to go down. I can't believe it!! It keeps going up all the time. I am so glad that I don't drive much in the country - costs more but I only need to fill up every 4-5 weeks.

My husband and I are investing in bikes for the summer. If we get a child carrier for each bike we can put the kids in one and the groceries in the other. Our plan is to bike Redding this summer. Especially, since it cost $35 to fill a 10 gallon tank yesterday. We also have a trip south this summer to go to Disneyland with my parents and my brother's family it's going to cost a mint just to get there.
