Hello! I am currently student teaching in a 5th grade classroom and just accepted a job as a 6th grade Language Arts teacher. The middle school that I will work at is the school that MOST of my students will be transitioning to so I'm so excited! Do you have any ideas of a fun way to announce this to my students? Maybe a quick game?

    How wonderful!

Concerning a fun way to announce this, I've always enjoyed times when I'd surprise my students with good news. I like to slowly announce the news and build up the excitement.

That reminded me of the time the principal imposed a new rule for field trips. On the primary bus, the third graders had to sit in the back, then 2nd, then first, then K. I anticipated my 3rd graders' reaction, so I began by saying, "We have a new rule for field trips." When I finally got to the part of where they would be sitting, they could not contain their delight and excitement! For a kid, the most coveted seat on the bus is in the back with all the bumps!
