(Thread resurrection) I can see the sunrise from my balcony. The sun rays come through the windows strongly. View from behind the kitchen sink
This is the view from the Hard Rock Cafe in Biloxi This is the sunrise from our cabin in Wiggins, MS. These little darlings were showing me that I didn't have to wait for the figs to get ripe. I've pretty much written off the tree in the backyard. I'm hoping that means they'll leave the larger tree in the front alone. (It's a mama and baby, if you notice, she seems to have a tail on both ends! There's another little one hiding/stuck in the fig tree, but I couldn't get a picture of it.) This place always means summer to me. It's on a barrier island off Louisiana. I've visited it almost every summer since '99 helping put on a coastal land loss workshop (5 AMAZING days). The land has changed so much, this pond isn't there any more. (This picture is from '04.) My first year there we were able to climb these steps and walk along the top of this fort. There was also an archway to the left and land all around it. Now the Gulf is slowly taking it back. They've built the rock wall around it to slow the loss, but it's still happening. This picture is from 2 years ago. The oil spill cancelled our workshop last year. We leave in 3 weeks to go back down. I'm almost afraid to see the changes.
the Texas State Aquarium had an owl release for some horned owls. They are supposed to send me the good flying pics for my Education Website. www.kedtkids.org But this is the one i took with my phone.
The view from my backyard in the San Francisco East Bay. I can imagine one day living in a more remote area, but for now I couldn't bring myself to leave this place.
Beautiful. Every day my little seven acres seems like it's not nearly enough. I hate to be that way, but I crave wide open spaces. Your picture is perfection.
wow jessica that truly is perfection! Was that a wide-angle lens used to take that photo? KDS, Love those owls! Too cute.
Since I've been in ND over a year now, I thought it was time to start exploring our state. Here's a few shots I took from my phone:
Day in San Diego! Spent the day in San Diego. I love coming every yr or two. I went to Seaworld (haven't been in about 25 yrs), Bazaar Del Mundo area, Old Town Historic State Park, Gaslamp Quarter, Fashion Valley Mall, Container Store, & Topanga Mall on the way back.
What a difference! I would have gotten a nervous condition with the first picture! I bought a picture frame/ jewlery box that hangs on the wall this year and its the best ever, its about 3 ft high by 2 ft wide so everything fits in it and it just looks like a picture frame hanging on the wall. LOVE IT!
Ms. I, you just inspired me to organize my room better! Looks great! Almost like a store! Some recent photos... After an 8-mile hike near Stinson Beach: Lake Tahoe in late June...there is still snow! This is somewhat rare. At the Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic. My favorite balloon! I love summer time...
Yes guys, that is a big difference. It really does feel better internally when things are in an organized fashion. When I get my own place, I want to buy those Huggable Hangers & rehang all the clothes in my closet & get all kinds of goodies from The Container Store. The hangers are supposed to add a lot more space & I sure do need it! missjessica, I've never been that close to a hot air balloon.
I just have to share this because I'm too excited. My very first apartment on my own (I lived with people in college for 3 years). I was lucky to inherit furniture from my sister, family, and friends. It's a weird but fun feeling knowing I can wake up and not worry if someone is in the living room!hmy:
