We're taking all of our grade 7 and 8 students to see a production of "Oliver" at one of the local high schools. The school has a theatre attached, so it's always a very professional production. We're doing a mini-unit to hit English and Drama expectations, but for today, we just get to enjoy the show!

Sounds like it will be a blast! I wish my school let us take field trips again.

It was a great show, done by the students in the Musical Theatre class at the high school. Our students (almost 120 of them) were really well-behaved at the theatre. The were exceptionally noisy on the bus, but almost 1/2 of them thanked the driver (without being prompted) when they got off the bus.

I love taking field trips to plays as well. I think it's something that not all kids get to experience with their families. I'll never forget going into NYC to see Les Miserables on a field trip in I think the 11th Grade. I have been hooked on theater ever since! ;)
