Hi! I have been out of college for 2 years and I'm wanting to know how to prepare for the FTCE General Knowledge exam. I have taken the exam twice and the first time I made 196 (English), 190 (Reading), and 171 (Math). The second time I made 191 (English), 185 (Reading), and 166 (Math). Any information would be very helpful! Thank you!! :)

With subtest headings like that, this is a basic skills test: let's move it to the appropriate subforum.

Hm. How are you generally as a test taker?

I'm usually pretty good as a test taker, but I have the tendency to overanalyze some of the questions and I also have a tendency to rush through tests as well.

That's fairly common. Try imagining that you're walking someone else through the test: your job is to keep this imaginary person from rushing or overthinking.

Great idea! Thank you so much! I've been trying to pass these tests for the past few years with no success. But I'm remaining positive because I'm wanting to achieve my dream of becomiing an elementary school teacher, even though my degree is in Social Science with Education Concentration.
