Frustration with subs...

    That really is an awful situation. I have been in a similar position with a long-term sub at my school whose kid was in my class. The best way to describe the situation is probably "messy".

    It sounds as if admin needs to have some PD for the subs and reiterate that working in the school means they are expected to maintain all confidentiality rules regarding all students. Subs who are found to break that agreement will be terminated without a positive reference. Been down this road. If admin follows up by seeking and tracing leaks of personal information, it will only take a couple of terminations to drive home the point. I would caution, however, that some of the leaks may be coming from contracted teachers, so admin has to decide what to do about that, as well.
