I am wanting to do a frog theme for my first grade classroom. I was wondering if anyone has any pictures or ideas I could use. Thanks
I did frogs several years ago and it has been one of my favs. Hop On In Hopping Into 1st Grade Put center signs and labels on lily pads Read-it, Read-it (like ribbit, ribbit) Leaping into_______ Welcome to our Pad Have fun planning this!!!!!!! Hope these ideas help!!
Here is my classroom from 2 years ago. I'll work on putting up this year's later. http://community.webshots.com/album/560393423jsAUDs?vhost=community
2 years ago-they were $8 each. I think they still had them last year, but I don't know about this year.
Mays Drug and Drug Warehouse has them on sale this week! They are on sale for $9.09. I don't know if they are exactly the same design, but the lady said that they are cute. I am calling around the all the stores in a minute (mine was waiting on the shipment).
I GOT THEM!!!!! I went to two Drug Warehouses but I go four chairs. They are exactly the same as the one's that lteach2 had in her room. I am just so excited:woot:. I can't wait to start decorating my room. If only they would let me in my room. I can't get in until August. This is a new room for me and I don't really know the layout. I got to look at it when it was stacked with boxes and furniture, ready for summer cleaning.
I am going to create a frog theme, too. I have done it in the past, and it's very cute. Check out www.welcometothepond.com for some really cute ideas! I just found this site today!
lteach2, I was wondering if you could tell me where you got your frog-themed center signs? I loved the pictures of your classroom! I think I'm going to go with this theme.
I love the frog theme, I really like frogs, and so I have frog stuff all over, but at the moment its packed so they can clean the room. I have frog who is stuffed he's our class pet and goes home with a different student each day, I have a frog pointer for the calendar person, i use the DJ inkers bulletin board frogs and border, at target I have found lily pad and frog rugs, a frog tent and the kids very favorite thing. A real frog that lives in water, I bought him at Petsmart, and he lives in water all the time and eats freeze dried worm cubed. Forgot, I use all the Carson-Dellosa Frog stuff for calendar. Have Fun and Good Luck!
I so love the Frog theme. I am thinking of doing my welcome bb as "Hoppin' into 4th grade". I just can't decide if I want to do it in English or Spanish. I also want to add another tag line to say something to the effect of "Let's have fun in the waterfall of knowledge" to play off on the pond element. Not sure -- will work more on it. I did buy a frog BB accents that have a giant frog with a lily pad & many smaller frog of various colors to represent the students. Thinking of getting green fabric as my back drop for the bb.
I got my frog centers signs from a teacher store that is now out of business, but I found a place where you can order it online. Here's the link... http://teachchildren.com/ctp-0724.html
I like the center signs lteach2, I wonder though if I need to find some with pictures for my kinder students? I had a great garage sale find this weekend. I found a small rug that is two tones of blue with several fish swimming on it. I paid a whopping $1 on it. I think it will be a perfect pond for my reading center.
I finished (for now) my website with a frog theme. www.snipurl.com/kasserman I can't get in my classroom yet to decorate, but I have a bunch of posters and stuff from the last time I used the frog theme.
There is a frog themed number line. I'm not sure who the maker is. I bought huge frog garden flags that I used for curtains. I bought mine in the garden section of HEB two years ago. I had the frog center signs. I had several kinds of frog fabric that I bought at Wal-Mart. They usually carry a similar fabric each year. At target a few years ago, they had frog chairs in the gardening department. Once you decorate in frogs, you will get bunches of frog themed presents for Christmas and your birthday!!
I have the frog # line, too. Is this the same one? http://catalog.educationexpressonli....html?osCsid=1513e449e85dcc1d15550588e9a5af5b
No, but my reading area was my reading pond. I made a giant lily pad and had a frog laying back relaxing with shades on reading a book.
I know this thread is a bit old, but I just found a cool site with TONS of frog stuff! http://frogstore.com/
