    I like Sydney. I once babysat a girl named Signey...that one was a little different...a "g" instead of a "d". I didn't like how it sounded.

My other girl name that I like that is a place name is Tara (Tah-ra). It means "tower" in Gaelic.

Jen, I agree. Even with nicknames for kids are now unisex like Samantha & Samuel. Sam or Samm or Sammie or Sammy.

Miss W I've heard of that name.

My friend's brother's name is Morgun. They went with "un" instead of "an" because they felt it made it more masculine. I've known many girls with that name, but he's the only boy I know with it.

I think that traditionally Morgan is a man's name. I had a law prof named Morgan and he must be in his 80's now.

I'm pretty sure it was, but at some point became primarily a girl's name.

I personally think Morgan sounds like I girls name...we have a friend that named their girl Ty--which i think sounds like a boys name. We have another friend who named their girl Logan

I like Logan as a boys name. If their little girl wasn't named Logan I would probably consider it for a boys name. If we had gotten a boy golden retriever I was going to name him that too! I have 2 goldens and I used my 2 favorite girl names on them...Hannah and Allie.

that's funny!!! Using up all your names on your pets!!! My daughter is Lauren...............I've loved that name for years, and now she is 19 and I still haven't run into it much. I don't think I've had a Lauren in any of my classes.

All the good names are gone, haha. In my cousin's family, my aunt only chose names that couldn't be shortened into nicknames. She had a thing about nicknames, I guess. 40 cousins, oh my goodness.

I agree with Troy! I hate sharing my name with BOYS! lol

I have only heard Bailey as a boys name. Except for my aunt's dog who is a girl and her name is Bailey. I have a cousin that named his daughter Riley. I always thought that was a boys name.

I think I have caught up. Yippie.
Lets see I like the name Sydney. Its a cute name. It was a Sidney when I was going up and was a boys name. Now there are a ton of girls named Sydney. Seems like after they used it on Melrose Place everyone started naming their girls that.

I love the name Lauren. I know four! All around my age.

When I grow up(haha) and have kids I am naming my daughter Rachel Elizabeth. And I told all my friends they are not allowed to use that name. When I was little my best friend died, and that was her name.

Our son's name is Tanner...I have yet to meet another Tanner so that's cool. I heard the name from one of my ECE college professors and liked it right away. Plus, my hubby was so stuck on keeping the initials TJ running in the family...so, Tanner James it is! James is the hubby's middle name (Troy James) and his father's name is Tyler James.

There were a lot of Jennifers and Jaimes in my class. No Bethany's. I know three girls now in first, second and third grade with the name.

My step-granddaughter's name is Sydney and her sister is Madison. I think they both have gotten more popular lately. Jennifer is still a popular name. I had a Reilly in class last year and a Lauren, too.

One thing that I think is kind of strange is when twins have names that are almost identical. On my daughter's soccer team was a pair named Shana and Shauna. We couldn't tell them apart and so just called them both Shanashauna.

My husband basically named our daughter i wanted Alexandria Grayson and he shortened it and tweaked it to Alexia Mason so I got my way and so did he. It was a good compromise.:p
