    Resources for Grades K – 5
    The Planet Protectors Club is an interactive Web site that takes you and your students on a learning adventure with challenging activity books, educational games, and fun stories. A free, hard copy Planet Protectors Club kit is also available. This kit provides guides for elementary school students, as well as for parents, teachers, and after school leaders.

    Planet Protectors Club kit includes the following:

    Starting a Planet Protectors Club (PDF) (2 pp, 223K)
    Fact sheet detailing the steps in establishing a Planet Protectors Club
    Calendar of Activities for Teachers of Grades K-3 (PDF) (2 pp, 3MB)
    Designed as a resource for teaching the concepts of reducing reusing, and recycling to children in grades k-3; in addition to a large 10-month poster for the teacher or group leader, there is a smaller version for each child with a set of stickers to track the child’s progress in completing the activities.
    Calendar of Activities Student Handout (PDF) (2 pp, 839K) with stickers (PDF) (1 pg, 42K, print on self-adhesive paper)
    Follow That Trail! (PDF) (12 pp, 1.3MB) | en Español (PDF) (12 pp, 2.7MB)
    In this activity booklet for grades K-3, students follow the trail through a maze, a rebus, and other fun activities to find out where bottles and cans go after they are recycled, and other facts about resource conservation.
    Planet Protectors Create Less Waste In the First Place (PDF) (12 pp, 404K) | en Español (PDF) (12 pp, 396K)
    Students in grades K-3 can color the pictures in this booklet providing tips on how to keep an old jelly jar out of the trash.

    In this activity booklet, students in grades 4-5 follow the detective through word scrambles, a crossword puzzle, and matching games to learn about reducing waste.

    Children in grades 4-5 fill in the blanks, unscramble words, use math skills, do a crossword puzzle, and put together a game to learn about the effects of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste on climate change.

    The USGS has some cute cartoon posters for $1 about environmental issues including pollution sources. I'll try to find the link.
