Hi Everyone! I'm really wanting to do a Classroom Economy this year---inspired by the talented Beth Newingham! I'm looking for FREE incentive rewards that students can purchase at the end of the month. Ideas please!!!! Thanks! Wishing everyone an awesome school year!
Computer Time Sit at the teacher's desk Sit next to a friend Sit anywhere in the classroom you want Lunch with the teacher Help in the preschool or kindergarten room Lunch with another grade level Homework Pass Extra recess time Thats all I can think of off the top of my head!!
I knew a teacher who chose 3 three popsicle sticks with students names on them at the end of the day (students who had earned the incentive), and the next morning, they chose a 15 minute activity...she would have choices, such as painting, computer time, play a game with a friend, etc. So while everyone else was doing morning work, they would be doing their special activity. It worked very well!
I've created a "Gold Star" reward that I just copy and put in my treat jar with free things that kids can choose for their reward. some of my choices are: 1) lunch with the teacher on Friday 2) a happy visit with the principal 3) babysit a beanie baby (they take it home overnight) 4) be a special helper (i ususally ask their k or 1 teacher) 5) have a good note sent home 6) sit in the rocking chair during chapter book time things like that....
I know a teacher who had as a prize a coupon that permitted children to bring a healthy snack from home. They were allowed to keep it on their desks to enjoy throughout the day. The kids loved it!
