Okay, I just accepted my first sub assignment. 8th grade LA. I know the teacher because I did about 10 hours of practicum time with her in January so I know she'll leave clear and concise sub plans etc. I'm soooooooooooo nervous though! The other 8th grade teachers are also familiar with me since I've observed in 2 of the 3 rooms. Any advice, tips, anything would be greatly appreciated.

Take a deep breath. Seems like you have an advantage. I'm sure things will go smoothly. Smile, be approachable and do your best to follow the plans.

When I sub, the days fly by... so, enjoy it.

I hope it does fly by. I know they do blocks so it's 4 blocks of kids for approximately 65 minutes. I'm about as tall as most of them so I hope they don't bully me! HAHAHAHA.

The first time subbing is always hard. All of a sudden your in charge of the room. The good news is that no teacher expects everything they left to get covered, and they don't expect their students to behave like angels.

I just hope I can handle the students NOT acting like angels. :)

Good luck! You are familiar with the school and the teacher's desires; that's half of the challenge right there. Just relax and you are going to do fine.
