    You might try contacting your local public university's school of education; chances are good that a live person there can help you begin to find answers to your questions.

    I agree, call NIU or UIC and see if someone there can help you. I just graduated from NIU and it was a decent school. It was pretty afforable compared to other colleges in IL.
