I was wondering what you use to make your website. I know geocities, but are there any inexpensive ones without ads?

I use godaddy and it has some nonflashing ads at the top of the screen. My hubby taught me a lesson. He put in a background (in our case, white) and it covers them all up. Some might not consider that ethical, but if I'm paying for a site, I want it to be ad free if that's my choosing. Especially for one that might be accessed by students.

Use Blogger and set it up as a webpage. No ads unless you want them. EASY to use. Nobody will ever know it's really a blog.

Why don't you buy a domain and have all your online stuff forwarded to it?

Check with your district's webmaster (you can usually find this at the bottom of your district's website. My district provides free website pages for each teacher...all you have to do is ask! We use Frontpage, which is loaded onto the school computers.

That IS a neat website! Hey, I loved the picture with the Galapogas turtles! My father was stationed on the island in WWII (he's gone now) and he talked about them all of the time! Thanks for the memory! :)

I have an Apple so I use iweb to create mine...I love it! So easy to use and update (you do have to find your own hosting but can find for VERY cheap $10/year). http://tenkely.org and www.ilearntechnology.com

    Stacy23 and others:
Before you spend ANY money, check with the company through which you get on the Internet at home. Most Internet Service Providers give their subscribers FREE web space -- with NO ads! I know, I used to work for one in my area.:2up:

That's right. The message to the right tells you to click on the door handle to enter the site.
