I have had Shelties, Collies, Mutts, and, most recently, I am back to a couple of spaniels. The Cocker is well known, but the Welsh Springer Spaniel, well, they are a limited breed in the US. All of that said, I am sharing a picture of my Welshie's mother, and then his breeder recently sent me the drawing. If others want to add pictures or pet cartoons, they are welcome. Meet "Jillian", "Cal's" mom. They are dead ringers for each other. Cal is boisterous - no nice pictures like this!

Powers that be, thank you for moving this to the correct forum. I also messed up the recent video thread, and all I can say is that it is awfully hot - my brain must have been fried!

What a beauty! I had a Springer for many years and she captured my heart.

Love the pics! We had a springer spaniel years ago.

Now we are Bernese Mountain dog people and have been lucky enough to love four of them so far. We are on a waiting list for two puppies in the spring. It is a long time to wait, but we think it is best for the pups if we can get them when I will be home more for the first two months.

I have a black lab mix that adopted me. He showed up out in the country. No one claimed him so he became my spoiled rotten dog. I was thinking of adopting one when he showed up. I was thinking about a medium sized dog, but a big one found me first. He has been the best dog.

My dog goes to the refrigerator and stares at the freezer section until momma gets him his ice cream. I buy him the dog ice cream in peanut butter and he loves them.

Beautiful! What an amazing picture! We have two Great Danes (my avatar). Both boys, Kilo and Arrow. I'm one of those crazy dog people that can't imagine my life without them and obsess over them. They're so goofy and rotten and have the best personalities.

Confession time - I really, really love guinea pigs. A ton of personality in a two pound package.

I've always had big dogs who liked to be outside most of the time. I've had a German shepherd/Australian shepherd, a lab mix, an Akita, and a husky. Now I have five Shih Tzus. They're adorable. They have won me over to lap dogs.

For the life of me, I don't know why Welsh Springers aren't more popular than they are. Not to say that popularity is a good thing for a breed... but it seems like these dogs have everything a lab or golden have.

Well, they have a little more "willfulness". They are loves, but sometimes hard to train because they like to think for themselves. Honestly, what could be a better breed for a teacher?

I grew up with one, and now we laugh about the way Missy would sometimes just look over her shoulder at my mom, and then do precisely as she wanted, instead of what was expected. Missy was certainly unforgettable. Many years later, and I am happy to say that the independent streak is alive and well in the Welshies, and still endearing to me.

Would I love to be this surrounded by Welshies? You bet. Pretty much you only get this many together in one place, at one time, in Europe. Enjoy the red and whites. . .

So cute. I'd love a pig or a goat, but I doubt the condo association would approve!

Well if you decided on the goat, it could just hang out on the roof - they kind of go where they want to anyway. You could claim you had no ownership over that goat, and you would be pretty much right. They are the cutest escape artists I have ever known!

I've had so many cats, but I never had the luck of having two cats who loved each other like yours do. What a sweet picture.

When I adopted them, though, they had been split up before Luna was brought back. (She's the split faced one - the bipolar one lol). They said Stella cried all night looking for her.

If you open the video from Rancho something, you can see the goats walking around on the donkeys backs, and the donkeys very tolerant. Substitute roof for donkeys and you get the picture!

I've had all sorts of dogs in the past, mostly mutts. Now I have two doxies and a corgi. The doxies are mine, corgi belongs to my daughter. I follow Crusoe on Facebook, looks just like my little Shadow. I can't imagine not having a dog in the house. Growing up I had all big dogs that were outside. The doxies are the first inside dogs I've had and I love it so much! 4 years ago my cat of 12 years passed away and I haven't been able to get another one. I love cats, just not ready for another one. Maybe one day. I'd love to have goats in my backyard but not sure the HOA would approve of that.

I have had two sets of litter mates. The first were two brothers and they were always snuggling together. One died of cancer when they were two. About six months before that, I got a brother and a sister. I was only going to the shelter to adopt one, but they were snuggling and I have sucker written on my forehead. The three of them will snuggle and they'll snuggle in pairs. Those three definitely love each other.

I rescued a kitten from a situation about a year ago and he mainly snuggles with me and I've seen him snuggle with the dog and the other cats, but they haven't bonded as much yet. He wants to play too much for the senior cats' taste, I think. Most nights, the dog is sleeping on the floor right by my side of the bed (ignoring his soft bed across the room), the kitten will be tucked in by my side and the other three cats will be sleeping on or beside my feet.

That poor little thing just can't run. But it has a happy ending, doesn't it? So cute. Gosh, it's nice to know others here are as crazy about dogs as I am.

One of my favorite things about dogs is the look on their faces when you say, "Go get it!" and they start looking for a second before realizing that they don't know what they're looking for.
