What are foods that you have a hard time putting the breaks on once you start eating them? For me-- Chips! Don't bring them near me!
Cookies, especially fresh out of the oven. I can't bake them because I have no self control. I won't even bake them with plans to immediately take them somewhere else. I can't be trusted. I have 0 problems weighing out 1 or 1.5 servings of chips into a bowl and just eating that. I have no idea how people eat just 1-2 (small) cookies and leave the rest.
I suspect that most people have some trouble stopping after they start eating some of the salty snacks like chips. Popcorn is something that I find hard to walk away from, once I've let my hand go into the bowl or bag. That said, I might have trouble applying the "brakes" on how often I take a few handfuls, but, fortunately popcorn doesn't "break" easily! Just thought that I should tell you that I love your avatar picture, as well as give a warm welcome to one of our newer members.
The big bags of mini chocolates. Somehow it's easier to save a big bar or just eat half of it, then to resist temptation to keep eating mini snickers or kit kats, etc.
They used to sell these cookies that were devils food ( Snackwell). They were sugar free, but high in fat. I learned not to even buy them. They had about 12 cookies per pack. Once I started, I would not stop until I was stuffed. Then the next day, I'd finish off the rest. I don't think they sell them anymore which is less temptation for me.
Oreos, Chinese food, and espinaca dip. my husband laughs at me every time we eat Chinese or Mexican food because I KNOW I overeat every time, and I know when I SHOULD stop… and then I don’t. And I complain about being in pain for hours afterward
I just realized that this thread might give me too many ideas of things that might tempt me! I have never even heard of coconut popsicles!
Nutella. I eat it from the jar with a spoon and I can’t stop till the jar is empty. I have zero self control so I can’t buy it. I once bought Nutella for a recipe. I couldn’t make the recipe because I ate the whole dang thing.
I'm with ya Happygirl - I'm not even going to post mine but almost every single post so far I've been thinking yep, uh huh, oooh that one too, yep, ...I'm going to go make popcorn now!
Peanut butter is dangerous for me to have in the house. Sometimes I will buy the individual packs so at least I know I'm only eating one serving at a time. If I have an open jar all bets are off
https://www.walmart.com/ip/OUTSHINE-Creamy-Coconut-Frozen-Fruit-Bars-6-Ct-Box-Gluten-Free/16935637 They are yummy! Walmart has their own brand, too.
When my husband had weight loss surgery, peanut butter was his go-to. He would go through an industrial container of Peter Pan WEEKLY LOL. With a spoon!
I also found this cashew butter with coconut. It's ridiculous. I would eat it for every meal if I could.
Hmmm I wonder what a cookie butter Nutella combination would taste like… oh dear this could be dangerous
I bought those coconut popsicles and they are good!!! Maybe a new addition to my list of no brakes food.
I ate an entire bag of Butter PuffCorn on the way home from the grocery store last week. Whoopsee! I shouldn’t buy that stuff.
I went to Trader Joe's and got this spicy snack mix that came in a can. There was supposed to be like 10 servings LOL oops. I think I ate it in 2 sittings.
These are the foods with no brakes for me, in order of importance: 1. guacamole, which is the queen of all foods 2. 7-layer dip with any chip to scoop up the dip 3. Lime/lemon chips (discovered them this year. Where have you been all my life?!!) I seriously cannot stop eating any of these foods when I see them, so I rarely keep them in the house as a means of stopping myself from snacking too often.
Here is the list of best healthy snacks: - fresh fruits and vegetables - unsalted nuts and seeds - peanut butter - protein bars.
Can't have half of those as i've been diagnosed with the type 2 diabetes. I definitely love fresh fruits but can't have too much of those. I normally buy trulicity online in order to manage the sugar level in my blood, but still have watch very well what i eat or drink.
