Okay-so for those of us (myself included) who can't get into their classrooms here's a task to keep us focused and busy. (If you can get into your classroom don't worry about doing double-I'll have this one will come around again)

Remember those lovely tabs we had to find. Label one of them routines and let's get started making some daily routiens. Right now we're only going to focus on what we need to do

    • before we leave for school
morning at school (before bell rings)
      afternoon at school
      evening at home

Each one of us will have a different list, some of us need to get children (or spouses!) ready for their day also. We'll break it down to a M-F list later, just put on the big ideas.

I put mine in page protectors so I could use a vis-a-vis marker and check things off in the beginning (I love checking things off)

Here's what I have so far:
Before I leave - get up, make the bed, go to the gym, shower (swish & swipe the bathroom), eat breakfast, feed the cat
School, before bell - check my lesson plans, make sure copies are ready, drink my water, check email and phone messages, file graded papers, enter grades into gradebook
    * Kids come in at 8:15, I get there by 7:30
Planning period -make lesson plans for next week, make copies, grade papers
Afternoon at school -clear off desk, check emails and phone messages, update communication log (Wednesdays are staff meeting days)
Evening at home -Clean the litter box, sweep the kitchen, clean out teacher bag, wipe down kitchen counters after dinner
** My amazing husband does all the cooking and makes lunches, so I don't have to worry about that :)

Thanks for posting this. I can't get into my classroom until the 15th, so the other thing is going to have to wait.

    I'll do this tomorrow morning.

Here is my list so far. I have used Annie's as a template:

    Teacher Routines:

    Before I leave for school:
    - get up
    - shower
    - brush teeth
    - make bed
    - get dressed
    - put on make up
    - do hair
    - eat breakfast
    - get lunch bag, drink, purse and teacher bag

    School, before bell:
    - empty teacher bag
    - check my lesson plans
    - make sure copies are in appropriate place
    - make sure students have morning work
    - make sure teacher materials are in appropriate place
    - make sure student materials are in appropriate place
    - planning
    - photocopying

    Afternoon at school:
    - clear off teacher desk
    - check emails and phone messages
    - get out materials for tomorrow
    - correct student work
    - planning
    - photocopying
    - exercise

    Evening at home:
    - shower
    - make and eat dinner
    - make lunch
    - wash dishes
    - sweep the kitchen
    - clean out teacher bag
    - prep for tomorrow/planning
    - repack teacher bag
    - Make the Sink Shine!

** I don't have a planning period, but I do get 1 day a month for planning. I would rather have it every day though. I find it really hard to work for one whole school day and I usually end up making more work for me to do:(. It is really hard to plan for a whole month for students with individualized programs and who all have mild to moderate cognitive delays. I really can't plan for the times they take weeks to get something:huh:.
