I want a flannel board for my classroom this year. All the ones im finding are pretty expensive. Now I'm thinking I can just make one myself. It can't be that hard.

Any tips? Has anyone made their own before?

My coworker covered a cork board with flannel by hot gluing it the board. It has held up for the last two years.

Most of the classrooms I have been in have a handmade flannel board, so it can't be that hard. I bet you could find instructions if you google.

BTW, those acrylic playsets will stick to the windows. I used to use one for the weather.

I lacked room to store a flannel board so I just used a large piece of flannel fabric. I would hang it on my easel when I used it for teaching and the kids would lay it out on the floor for retelling during Literacy Stations. Easy and inexpensive.

I have done the same thing and you can cover anything with flannel and have a flannel board. I don't use my whiteboard a lot because it is not magnetic but I have an easel that is double-sided and magnetic. i covered my whiteboard with felt this year and I can't wait to use it.
