Does anyone use their flannelboard almost daily?

I overheard another teacher say she used it daily during circle time, I didn't ask her at the time (I might ask next time I see her) WHAT she does with it.

Other than using it to storytell, can I get other ideas if anyone has any.

    Thanks!

Try using it to introduce and review patterns, shapes, letters, colors, and numbers.

I use it a lot for math - patterns, number, number groups, one to one correspondance, etc..

I also found some great flannel board stories on Ebay such as
5 Little Ducks, 5 Little Speckled Frogs, 5 Little Monkies and so on.

Try reading a short story and let your students put the story pieces on the board..Also let them use it for one of the interest area during work time. If you observe from afar you will hear them telling the story. Great for observational notes for your file on the student and parent conferences.

You could use it for a game of memory too.

Making flannel pieces can be difficult. I photo-copy key pictures from a story, laminate them, and attach velcro or even tape to the back. We use them for sequencing, group participation, and story telling. Have fun with it!

There is a site with pictures from Eric Carle's 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar". I have used them for story sequencing, and story telling also.

I use mine with our nursery rhyme of the week- we seem to have flannel sets for most all of them. I use it to introduce the rhyme; key them as the week goes by to say the rhyme; and they get to take turns telling US the rhyme using the pieces.
