I've gotten some extra money this week that was totally unexpected, unbudgeted, and not needed for bills or vacation... I've wanted a Fitbit since reading about them. Are they really as good as they promise? I'm thinking of the One. I want the sleep tracker as well. I'm using MFP with great success (52 lbs lost and counting ) and want to have a more accurate count of daily activity/calories burned. So, would you recommend it?
I would definitely recommend it! I love how it syncs with MFP and how it can tell stairs vs. walking etc. It was really helping to motivate me and I feel great when I earn extra calories after working out! Although I haven't used it while pregnant...I'll have to get back on the horse soon!
I love mine as well! It challenges me to push myself to get to that next level--3 more flights of stairs to get to 25, another 500 steps to get to 15000, etc. Congrats on your loss, karebear!
Does it have pretty accurate counts on steps and such? And is it relatively hide-able? I'm a guy, and don't severely need it, but would like to improve my health and amount of exercise (and track the many miles I probably walk at my side job )
I have the Fitbit 1. I've found it to be very accurate for steps and flights of stairs climbed. I used it for sleep tracking for a bit, but didn't find that as accurate for me (although a friend swears by it). It's very low-profile, so easy to "hide".
Oh, how I would love one! I will have to look it up to see how much it costs. I probably can't afford it though
I have the Fitbit One and I LOVE it. Especially now that I'm in on break in Poland, my steps/flights are reaching huge numbers that I've never seen before because of all the walking, and it really does motivate you to do a bit more like MrsC said.
Where do you put it?? I did see one that is a wristband but the other ones seem more like a pedometer you'd clip onto your pants.
I think I'm going to get one...the only time I was successful losing weight was when I used a BodyBugg, but I hated the fact that it was hard to hide and it would hurt my arm after awhile! The Fitbit seems to have what I really liked about the BodyBugg (keeping accurate track of my calories burned and being able to load that information on the computer) without being in the way.
