Hi everyone! I am new to this site...I am going into my first year of teaching and it is in 4th grade! I am very excited but a little nervous, as my internship experience all last year was in Kindergarten. I had an amazing mentor that made me the teacher I am today, BUT most of my teaching exposure was with the little ones. This is quite a jump for me! Nonetheless, I was wondering if anyone had any tips, pointers, or words of wisdom for me? Anything from setting up my classroom to teaching writing/reading skills...Looking forward to an awesome year with my students!

Welcome to the site, CDG... from a rookie here as well. :)

Rather than re-type what I said in another, similar thread, I invite you to click the link and check it out. :)

(Sorry, I'm the only response so far...but perhaps others will chime in! :) )

I like to invite you here. All the best for your teaching career. Be Prepared-- this is preliminary step. Get all the materials necessary and make yourself prepared to take classes for 4th grade.
