I’m officially on summer break as of last Friday… and the first order of business is to get my pool clean and swimmable. It’s been a nightmare the last two weeks, but I finally made some headway this morning so here’s hoping. Plus today I have a school tour to follow up on an interview last week. I’m really hoping it goes well and I get the job.
Today was my first full day. Nothing spectacular. Awake at the same time as usual to take my son to school. I got to leisurely drink coffee in the am. I went to the post office around noon. Got my hair cut at 3. Tomorrow is a list of to-do's with my wife and we need to take my car to get a dent looked at.
6 days. 3 of those are early release and one is field day, so it’s barely 6 days but oof. I’m over it.
It still seems so weird to me that people are on summer break but it won't be summer for another month LOL
2 regular school days, 1 day chaperoning first grade to the zoo, and classroom clean-out day. Friday is in-building optional for submitting final grades, then for whatever reason, we're supposed to show up on the 30th.
Kids have a half day Friday (full day for teachers-afternoon is inservice) and inservice on 5/30. We have yet to determine what the inservice reasoning is since report cards are sent home with the kids by the last day (we have this question every year-1.5 days of inservice...)
Done as of 9:00 this morning when I finished up my classroom checkout list! Technically today was a full teacher day but it was not enforced at all at my school.
