First thing you're going to do on summer break

You stop working right now, lol! (Just kidding, do whatever the heck you want.)
Ha - my first few days of break in previous years usually would be in the classroom, cleaning up, playing around with my class library, thinking about things for next year, etc...

Granted, this year...with us kicked out at 1pm the last day, it'll definitely be a forceful "stop working"! :p

We finished with kids on Friday. My husband is retiring, and his last day is tomorrow. I have work days this week, and then I’m free for the summer.

We are thinking about buying a boat. That may be our first summer project.

Our last day for students is Wednesday and then we’re finished on Friday. I am SO ready for this school year to be over. And here’s to hoping that the 21-22 school year will be better.

My husband wants to get a boat someday. My friend's husband actually built his own boat. I think it took a few years!

Our last day with students is June 3 and June 4 is last teacher day. My first summer task will be Monday, June 7 when we have our anatomy scan and find out if the baby we are expecting come October is a boy or girl!!! Prayers for a healthy baby!!!

Getting out of town. Time to look at other people.
Right?? I really need a change of scenery and I'm sick of looking at the same people LOL
At this point I don't even mind seeing strangers.
I'm definitely going to check out a local park that I haven't been to in a while. If it's not crowded I'm going to set myself up down by the river with a picnic and a book and hopefully won't be bothered for a while.

Had a coworker to tell me that I needed to be available this summer in case she needed something.

Um...............no?

I almost have my new room set up. I’m moving from a full classroom to a half room. I may be finished tomorrow. We work until June 1, then I’m free until August.

DH and I both got retirement tattoos this week.

Well... I've been on "summer break" since January, so I'll be job hunting.
Also spending afternoons by the pool with a book, now that it's ACTUALLY summer. Pool opened this week, and we finally got summer weather today so I'll be pulling out my swimsuit this weekend.

I’m so glad we’re done for the year. We [admin team] still have to be on site this week, after Memorial Day, but students and teachers are done. Some teachers will still probably be in the building next week cleaning up their classrooms or whatever. We still have meetings with the district (joy to the world!) and other end of year stuff. But most of that isn’t really hard per se. Between the three of us we’ll get it down quickly.

We pick up DH's new truck tomorrow, and we get color in our tattoos on Saturday. In not-as-much-fun news, we are replacing two air conditioning systems.

In between working my second job, there's a lot of travel going on. Last weekend was one brother in-law's high school "graduation" (he's autistic, so he went to an AWESOME special needs school and earned a completion certificate). Next we fly out west to see the in-laws we were supposed to spend Christmas with for a Christmas in June. Then some of them are coming out east to visit, then we have friends visiting, then possibly more family. It's going to be a busy summer.

I'm going to lounge by the pool and catch up on my reading list! I also plan to finally watch "The Handmaid's Tale." :D

Almost done with summer school, ready to turn my phone off.

Does your school call you during your summer break?

They tried once…. But didn’t call again so it wasn’t that important or they got somebody that could handle it.

Just enjoyed a huge mid-morning breakfast and now to lounge around the rest of the day.

I can just imagine the joy retirees have right now.

I've barely moved from my bed. Am I doing this correctly?
That was me at the lake. Hubs was like let’s go do this let’s do that. I was like but I’m real comfy right where I am! We did end up doing some stuff together and had fun.

ALREADY?!
Rockhubby and I are talking about going north to escape the July heat of the Midwest. Camping trip or three is definitely in the works.

School is out May 10 here.

Summer vacation isn’t much fun now that I’m retired. We preferred being able to run errands during the week and during school hours. Fewer people.
