I have my first teaching interview on Thursday! It is in a school district I really want to work at. Let me clarify, I have been working as a long term sub un 2nd grade since January. I was a sub for one teacher, she came back and then the other teacher left so I took overher class until the end of the year. It is a small district with one school. I have been doing all the planning for each class, and everything that the regular teachers do. I have also been very involved in the school, helping out with activites and such. My interview is with the principal and superintendant during my plan time, so only 30 minutes. My question is, what should I expect? They know me pretty well already so what kind of questions might they ask? Also, I want to have some questions ready to ask myself, but many I thought I would be asking have been answered, since I have been in the school. Any help would be great because I want to work at this school more than anything! Thanks

    Expect:

    1) tell us about yourself/why do you want to teach here

    2) classroom management plan questions

    3) how do you communicate with or handle parents ??

    4) common core stuff

    Ask: maybe some of these??

    1) what level of teacher/mentor support is there?
    2) what types of committees or extra circulars can I participate
    3) what are the schools/districts goals for next year?

Goodluck I interview tomorrow too!! Fingers crossed✌

Just make sure you don't assume that they already know some of your answers since they know you. I agree that asking about mentoring would be a good question.
