When you decorate your room, do you stick to a certain theme? Do you decorate your door/the wall next to your door?
Hi - My class is '1B' so my classroom's theme is always: Bees...I decorate my classroom door each year with laminated cut-out bees and flowers and glue a picture of each students head onto the bees head. My borders are bee themed and newsletters, etc., usually have some sort of bee related theme attached. The other grade one classroom is '1C' and she usually themes her door around 'under the sea'. The kids love to see their pics on a bees body!
I don't have a specific theme that I use all year, but I do decorate my classroom based on the time of year and what we are learning. A great deal of my "decorations" are student work. My door is always decorated as well
Same here!! I've done a few different "body of a _____, face of a student" and the kids always love it.
I put colored paper on the bulletin boards with the boarder decorations. I do make the colors complementary or matching. When the children arrive I start putting up their finished work. I do not do a long term class theme.
