here is a link to my classroom pics... our schools are very different to yours! Hope you find it interesting - it's a grade 1/2 classroom. http://www.flickr.com/photos/10270274@N08/
I LOVE everyone's pics!!!! :2up: My classroom floors were being washed/waxed this week, so I plan on "putting it back together" over the weekend. If I can figure out how, I will post my pics. My classroom is literally 1/3 the size of these shown! But, I only will have 16 in my class, trade off I guess QUESTION: Do you all put ALL your books out at once, or add, subtract, etc. throughout the year? I want my classroom library to be multi-level and inviting, but not overwhelming.
I put all my leveled books out (about half of my books). Then, I keep the other books grouped for units we do. If we do space, then I take out all the space books and put them on our display shelf. Later on I want to sort my books by theme or genre, so kids can have access to these books all year. I need to think of a system so the books don't get mixed up easily, and so that students are picking JUST RIGHT books from the leveled bins, and books of interest to them in the theme bins. But this probably won't happen until next year!!! I have too many things I want to change on my plate for this year.
Hi JenniFoo... Lovin' the classroom, great job. Where did you find the little seat covers with the pockets? Those would be great in my classroom...
classroom pic Jennifoo where did you get Bee kind, Bee considerate etc. border on discipline board???
These pictures are all great! I got lots of good ideas. Jennifoo - where did you get your number line and alphabet line?
jennifoo- what are your letter stamps in? I have mine in the containters they came in...but yours looks a bit bigger.....I like it!
The pictures of my first grade classroom are posted under the Classroom Pictures thread in Elementary Ed.
So sorry I haven't answered questions sooner....I was vacationing in Key West! Brag! Anyway....to answer the questions... 1. My seat pockets are from Childcraft.com 2. My BEE polite, BEE prompt (etc) is made from wooden bees at an AC MOORE craft store and with foam sticky letters from a craft store. 3. My ABC line is from http://edushop.edu4kids.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=4658 Number line http://edushop.edu4kids.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=6424 (I didn't buy it from this site though...) 4. My letter stamps are organized into two of those craft supply organizers from Wal-Mart. The container they came in were very small and the kids alsways put them in wrong. I also stuck foam letters in the bottom of each section of the organizer...
Thanks Im going to Wal-Mart later this week..... I assume that each container has enough spaces for each letter of the alphabet?
Those containers come in different configurations. I think one with 26 spaces would have compartments too small to work. You might want more than 1 even if you could get one with 26 compartments.
First and foremost you need to download your photos to another site; I use PHOTOBUCKET.com but there are others that you can use. After that; it's pretty easy (NOW, it's easy for me! :haha: ) Another forum angel showed me how to post. Love this site, Sandra
type then put the link to the pic and then put at the end of the link but don't put a space between the g and the ]
Musicalgator, The above question about the crates is for you. I just forgot to put your name. Thanks!
Hi there! We use tribes agreements too here in Alaska and I saw your cute posters for mutual respect, listening, appreciations, etc. Where did you get those? Thanks! Paula

My pictures won't post right I tried posting my pics with photobucket. When they show up here everything is huge and the pictures is missing stuff. Has anyone had this happen before?
just a thought...are you sure it's cutting your photos down? There is a scroll that runs across the bottom of the screen and you need to "slide" it across to see the full picture. Just a thought.
I LOVE the dog theme in your room!! I have bee things this year, but will have dogs next year. Thank you for all the creative BB sayings!! Carrie
new2FL and TeachGrade1...I know this is off the subject but what do you put in the bags for the kids? I always get them a pencil but wondering what else to put in the bag?? Great rooms too, by the way!
I put an apple for the parents at open house. I attatch the poem: "an apple for the teacher is really nothing new except when you remember parents are teachers too!"
I put a First Graders are #1 pencil, a fancy eraser, a box of crayons, a sheet of stickers, a book mark, and 2 Hershey Kisses (hey, I'm from Pennsylvania ).
Thanks, new2FL. I'm from Washington...maybe I can stick in an apple (or a salmon he he). Anyway, great ideas.
It is a Royal Cart (or something like that). I think my principal ordered it out of Classroom Direct. I LOVE IT.
