    Hi All,

I read an idea about a VIP (Very Important Pupil) first day theme.

I made this graphic up based on ideas from the post, and a few minutes in photoshop.

I'm planning to have a red carpet, with a SOLD OUT, LIMITED ENGAGEMENT, VIP PASS ENTRY ONLY posters on my door, and for one of the games to play during "Routine Learning Time" will be Charades from an envelope handed to the VIP's on a silver platter (actually stainless steel, but it's really shiny :D)

Each envelope will have a routine, that the students will have to act out without speaking, where the rest of us will 3 guesses to figure out the routine. I will explain each routine as to who, what, where, why, and when. then will model How.

I'll put a few routines up for you to add any that you feel need my immediate attention. School starts in a couple weeks, so I got a few days to organize.

    so far I've got:
Procedure for IF you get in trouble
    Procedure for “rainy day recess”
    Procedure for entering the classroom
Procedure for when you are late
    Procedure for leaving the class
Procedure for the end of day class dismissal
    Procedure for asking a question
Procedure for asking a question during a test
Procedure for asking a question during a special guest talk
Procedure for listening to and responding to questions
Procedure for when you need a pencil and paper
    Procedure for taking a handout
    Procedure for turning in assignments
Procedure for the movement of student papers
Procedure for what to do when you’re done your seatwork
Procedure for indicating whether you understand
Procedure for responding to my request for attention
Procedure for when you are absent
Procedure for when someone knocks on the door
Procedure for when a guest teacher is present
    Procedure for emergencies
    Procedure for working cooperatively
    Procedure for changing groups
Procedure for keeping your binder or notebook
Procedure for when you need help or a conference
    Procedure for taking a test
    Procedure for sharpening you pencil
    Procedure for washroom breaks
    Procedure for water bottles
    Procedure for assemblies
    Procedure for morning announcements
    Procedure for bellwork
Procedure for transition to Physical Education
Procedure for returning to class from recess
    Procedures for field trips
    Procedures for school parties

not all of these will be used for the charades game (but things like entering the classroom, cleaning up your own mess, indoor voices, helping others, kindness, respecting others and equipment, etc)

    any ideas, comments, questions?

    Mr. Skinner :D
