Ok, I just finished Task 3 for my TOA's. One down, and one more to go... These things are brutal. It ended up being about 22 pages. Not too bad. Several teachers have told me theirs have been about 30 pages long... :dizzy:

TPAs are the worst! I hated that when I was goign to school. TPA = Teaching performance Assessment... you have to do like 6 of them for your teaching courses.

    Oops, lol. I meant TPA's... It's a California thing...

Here's a brief summary of it. It's very intense and involved.

"The California Teaching Performance Assessment (CA TPA) is an assessment of a candidate's ability to demonstrate competency of the Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs). The CA TPA is designed for candidates seeking the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and for candidates seeking a Single Subject Teaching Credential in any specific subject area(s). The CA TPA provides a series of four performance tasks that candidates complete during their professional preparation program. The results of the candidates' performance during the various tasks of the CA TPA can help provide formative assessment information to candidates for improving the quality of their teaching, and assists candidates to focus on those aspects of teaching in which they may need further development or support. The CA TPA must be successfully completed as one of the requirements for earning a California preliminary teaching credential from any institution."
