Well, I went to an interview yesterday for a "Night Duty Clinical Associate" for the overnight shift at a well known school/program in my area for children and teens with special needs. I interviewed to work with children from 5-21 years old who have neurological injuries, who exhibit self injurious behavior, etc. in their group setting... helping them with daily living skills, etc. Anyway... the good news. While I was interviewing, the head of that department came in and said that she had looked over my resume and saw that I had my degree in education. She said she understands that people will apply for any job within a specific setting to get their foot in the door. She said I have my foot in the door because I was called for an interview. She sat in on my interview and said that they are looking for qualified teachers and that she is going to personally pass my information on to the Director of Education and recommend me for an aide or teaching position within the school!!! I couldn't believe it. I am soooooo excited! And they offer programs and reimbursement through 2 great universities in the area that would allow me to get my Masters in Special Education... something I have been contemplating for a while now. Keep your fingers crossed for me:2up:!
