:2up: Finally I am so excited and happy. I have been out of the school system since June 2011 due to the program I was teaching being cut (budget) I just got a job as an Instructional Assistant and am pleased to be back in a school and classroom and hopefully will be able to get a teaching job for next school year.
I went in today and did my finger prints, took my photo for my ID, filled out Direct Deposit paperwork etc etc and as soon as my finger print results come back I will get my start date. I had interviewed for another job, paying more, and not with a school system but working with high school students......I was sure I would get it but 3 weeks later I have not heard back from them so I had to take this job that was offered to me. I am pretty excited and looking forward to the future possibilities with this district and am positive that through them I WILL have my own classroom as a teacher next school year, or sooner......some teachers do leave during the school year.
I think I read a few posts before replying to this one. It's slightly embarrassing to admit I thought I was replying to someone named "wannabeteacher." Must have been a different thread. As for your name, even if you are an assistant, you will likely have opportunities for teaching. Good luck and keep your sense of humor!
