I was a LTS at my dream school all last year. After my dream school didn't hire me (someone else was more "into" teaching physics than I was), and numerous interviews that went nowhere I started to get discouraged. It just didn't seem like there were that many open positions in my area, especially since a nearby district laid off 1/3 of its teaching staff (yikes!). Well this morning I had an interview at yet another district. Just the principle and me talking for about 45 minutes. Things went pretty well. He called 2 hours later and offered me the job!! Can't believe how happy I am now. I had to go get employment verification for my LTS so I could get credited with the experience. Spoke to both the Principal and the Vice Principal. They knew I was up for a position, since they were called for recommendations. They asked what I would be teaching and it was all I could do to stay professional and tell them: 2 Physics, 2 Honors Physics, and 2 Chemistry classes. Ironic, isn't it? Oh, and the pay is much better at my new district. Yippee!!! Student Loan Payoff Time!
