if you google it, you'll get lots of info. this is what I found at just a quick glance:
Signs and Symptoms of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
Characteristics of children with FAS include:
    low birth weight
    small head circumference
    failure to thrive
    developmental delay
    organ dysfunction
facial abnormalities, including smaller eye openings, flattened cheekbones, and indistinct philtrum (an underdeveloped groove between the nose and the upper lip)
    epilepsy
    poor coordination/fine motor skills
poor socialization skills, such as difficulty building and maintaining friendships and relating to groups
    lack of imagination or curiosity
learning difficulties, including poor memory, inability to understand concepts such as time and money, poor language comprehension, poor problem-solving skills
behavioral problems, including hyperactivity, inability to concentrate, social withdrawal, stubbornness, impulsiveness, and anxiety

    Yep.
As with anything, the degree of impact and the way the disorder presents vary from child to child/individual to individual.
I have one individual on my caseload right now (an adult) who has the facial features, some significant LD (especially with abstract concepts) and absolutely NO impulse control for his behavior.
I've had others where the impact of the FAS is much less severe.

I've had foster kids with FAS ... two severe and one mild case. Have you found the book entitled The Broken Cord yet? It's a must read ..... As far as having had students with FAS, I did last year, but only for a short while and then he moved away.
