How do I keep from being discouraged?
99.9% of school districts are like this. Sadly, this happens every day. Don't focus on this one school/district. Branch out. You will most likely go on dozens of interviews before an offer. Feeling discouraged is natural and all of us on here feel like that. We chose a tough field. Stay strong!
Does it stem from not being interested in me?
It can be anything...they already have someone in mind to hire, they may like you but don't think you will be a good fit in the positions available, or simply they are not interested. Most schools are not negative towards applicants after interviews...they will be kind whether or not they are interested in you.

Futureteacher08, you were told that you did a phenomenal job in an interview. That's fantastic feedback! Try focusing on that, and get your resume out there to every school within whatever you see as a reasonable driving distance. It's true, there could have been plenty of reasons why this happened, so don't let it discourage you.
