Hello Everyone, I am new to this site, but have read quite a few of the posts on here. I have passed subtests I and III successfully. I took subtest II almost two weeks ago and came out crying. I felt okay with the math multiple choice, but the science was difficult. The constructed responses were very hard and were not related to what I studied. I didn't leave any blank but am very worried about the outcome because if I do not pass I will have to postpone my student teaching almost 6 months, as the next test release date is 3 days after my student teaching application is due! Has anyone else felt like this and passed? What is the bare minimum performance wise I need to pass? I called the testing credentialing site and they said there are no exceptions to the 45 day wait period, and no way to expedite test results. Do the results ever come out early?
I’m so sorry this happened to you. My suggestion is since the material is still fresh in your mind you should write everything you remember down and start studying that material extensively. In particular, the materials you struggled with the most. Did you contact someone from your credentialing program and ask if they would be willing to make an exception and give you an extension? It’s a long shot, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. You can show them your score reports demonstrating you passed Subtests I and III and that you attempted Subtest II but are still waiting to get your results back. This will show them that you are making an effort and nearly meet the requirement, so they might consider that in their decision. And who knows, maybe you passed. It’s possible as people exit their exams all the time thinking they failed and later find out that they passed. That could happen to you! Secondly, look at it this way: You didn’t leave anything blank so you might receive partial credit for your FRQ’s, so all hope is not lost. Please keep us posted and I will keep my fingers crossed you passed.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. My program has a "no extensions, no exceptions" policy, but I guess it never hurts to try. I get my results back on July 13th. I will update when I receive them. Praying for a miracle here
