My center has a monthly theme each month, and each teacher then has to come up with weekly themes for the classroom. Our monthly theme is "We Love to Learn and Grow" Does anyone else here do weekly themes? What themes are you doing?
    Just looking for ideas! Thanks!:D

Well....February is full of holidays so I would do something with Groundhog's Day, Valentine's Day, President Day, Black History Month, Usually the 100th day of school, Lincoln's Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Mardi Gras....

Here Feb also brings Chinese New Year's anticipation of spring. By Feb our area (with it's 300 days of sun) is in the short rainy season. We only make it through by remembering to look forward to spring......and notice each day getting longer.

By March we are back to sweatshirts at recess.......can't wait!

Seen as we are venturing into March and soon spring...how about spending some time on the changes that will be taking place outside in nature to prepare for spring? The snow melting if you are in NE (thaw), trees budding, flowers emerging, birds migrating back, other animal species being born, temperature changes, for older kids...the change of the position of the sun resulting in longer and warmer days...discuss how the sun alone starts a chain reaction of occurrences. Incorporate interesting projects that will support the coming of spring....incubate chicken eggs, butterflies, plant some seeds and so on.
