During the day when I'm at school: Lotion, perfume, music, or even smelling a candle that's not lit! Evening: Shower, exercise, watch a funny show, eat foods that I crave like Thai or Tandoori! What are your favorite ways to unwind or get energy?
At school: a piece of candy, a glass of ice tea (out of sight) At home: exercising, shower, watching TV (in that order!)
Well, I have some Vodka in my freezer right now... Actually this is the first time I have had alcohol in my house in over 5 years (a visiting friend bought it). I usually relax on AtoZ and Facebooking my friends.
School: I like lotion also. Something with a floral smell. I also have some girls (I'm looping.) who love to rub my back. I love to put on music, too - praise and worship songs. Chocolate! Home: Same things with hubby or son rubbing back. Going out to eat This-chatting on here. Watching MASH, Little House, Waltons and Food Network Calling a friend GREAT thread Tennis Player!!!
I love relaxing and relieving stress by... reading taking a long shower watching foodnetwork going out to eat (unless money is part of the stress!) snuggling with the boyfriend chitchatting with mom or friends reading postsecret online
School - OMG I have like no time for stress relief! I guess chatting up with my coworkers at the teacher's lounge during lunch! Home - Warm cup of Starbucks coffee, watching tv (Grey's and Lost), spending time with my boyfriend, paintballing, video games, and browsing teacher websites!
Paintballing for me. It is fun to play with my students. A cool side effect is that when I have played in the past with students who were behavior problems their behavior in class got a lot better after we played together.
school- starbucks run doing lunch! home- vegging out in front of the tv, intense cardio session, going to bed early without feeling guilty about it bc there is still a ton of stuff to be done!
School - talking to my co-workers, playing music Home - going out to eat, especially places by the beach; some how the ocean seems to calm things down.
school: enjoying that first 5 minutes after the students have been dismissed....you know the quiet, peaceful, wonderful 5 minutes I'm talking about and a quick Sonic run (btw: I'm extremely envious of those of you who can make a starbucks run during the day!) home: driving home with no sound (i.e. radio, etc...), mindless reality television, and a once a month massage!
scream, holler, yell, have a stomping fit. LOL At home, a nice hot bath or getting on message boards. I can get lost in them like people get lost in a good book. At school, go to a friend and vent until I can think rationally... lol.
At school: talking to co-workers, just sitting in my room with the lights off At home: vegging out on the couch, wrapped up in a nice blanket and watching all the shows I've dvr'd.
At school - I go in very early (almost two hours early - my husband and I carpool to school) and make coffee, read the newspaper headlines, check my email and make my daily to do list and drink a cup of coffee before I get started. This helps me relax and acclimate to my day. I have found that since I have started doing this, I am so much more relaxed and prepared. I still have plenty of time to prep for the day and the week. If I am especially stressed, I spend five or 10 minutes during lunch doing a Sudoku or word search - it helps me focus! At home - I walk, watch the food network, play with my son, or check out some of my favorite blogs online.
School: Plan out my day in detail, with a to-do list, deep breaths, cold water at hand, and soft music playing in background throughout the day. After school: Gym for an hour or so, good dinner, tv with Hubby and dog... Pick out clothes for the next day and have them hanging up, ready to go. I am usually a stress-free person and I believe the things mentioned above are why!
After the kids leave I shut the lights off and sit in my rocker and doze off for a few minutes. If I am really tense I pull out my Aromatherapy Remedies for Headaches and rub it into my temples. The smell of mint helps me relax. Oh and then I grab a piece of chocolate. At home I do much like you, but I pop in a romance movie....this summer I got hooked on Christy.
School--listen to relaxing music, a piece of chocolate, vent to a co-worker, stretches Home--read a book, take a bubble bath, go for a walk, glass of wine
One thing that helps me get through my day is receiving a gift from my secret pal. You never know when you are going to get one, but when you do, it really brightens your day!
At school: talk with my co workers, walk around the building, lotion At home: knit, read Bible, walk in woods in back yard, glass of wine or a beer, cuddle with hubby, watch my favorite programs.
I like to run. I also like to sit and color, be it a coloring book or something to make an activity for work. Also, I like to walk around my neighborhood or watch Grey's Anatomy. Sometimes I like a nice shower or to sing music- or go out with friends for some good old Margies Ice Cream. http://chicagoist.com/2004/06/16/a_closer_look_at_margies_candies.php
