futureteach, I agree. Doritos overall had some REALLY good spots. I also enjoyed the letterman/leno one. I thought in general they were better this year than the past several...
They were all pretty good, especially the Dorito's ads. I liked the little boy laying down the rules to the b/f too. The VW Punch-Buggy ad was kinda cute/kinda annoying till the very end. When Stevie Wonder punches his buddy and says "Red One" and his buddy says "How do you DO that?" Now that was funny. Tim Tebow ad - I watched it and thought "That's it? That's what all the fuss was about?" I thought it was a sweet commercial and did a great job of delivering an understated message. :thumb:
The Doritos barking collar commercial was my favorite, followed by the Google commercial showing the searches by a guy who ends up falling in love, getting married, and having a baby.
I didn't care for the Doritos keep your hand off my mama commercial at all. I wasn't thrilled with any of them actually, but the Betty White one and the casual Friday one made me laugh.
The commercials were better this year! I liked several, but especially Betty White and the "Keep your hands off my mama!"
The Doritos ones didn't do it for me either. I forgot about how I giggled at the buggy one too. I agree, the Tim Tebow ad caused too much fuss for what it showed. i thought it was beautiful.
My kids loved the kgb commercial ("Bring it on, fat man" is a fairly good interpretation of what he said before being pounded by the sumo wrestler). Kia's Big Game commercial with the toy animals come to life was also a lot of fun. I always knew the stuffed monkey was a partier. hmm, both husband and I were disappointed with the ad quality, maybe we are a tough audience. I liked the Google ad.
The Google one was definitely my favorite. I was disturbed by the number of ads featuring hitting, henpecked men and therefore not very nice women. I was very disappointed overall.
Did you notice that all the scantily dressed women were attractive, but the scantily clad men were disgusting?!
I notice too. It was also a lot of beer commercials. However, I believe that the advertisements were reaching to men between the ages of 18 to 49ish. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have seen cute scantily clad men  in the commercials. http://blog.journalism.wisc.edu/2010/02/08/monday-debate-superbowl-advertising/
Oh ya, I forgot about the commerical for "6 more weeks of football." I love how it ripped on football players and hair.
I liked the Google one as well. Here is a funny story about it: http://consumerist.com/2010/02/google-doesnt-want-to-know-how-to-make-fiends-with-black-people.html
I have to disagree. The woman running into the conference room ahead of the main character was rather ordinary looking and didn't have a model's figure. There was also a woman that walks by in the background when he is in the copier room that has full figure. As far as attractive faces, the guy eating lunch with him and the one at the water cooler were both decent looking and not overweight. There were two younger-looking girls in the lower right of the conference room scene for a quick second, but there is a black guy sitting next to them that is offsets that. This scene is very quick and the woman who ran into the conference room first is standing, so the focus is drawn to her more than the other women in the room. There were some slimmer women in the background, most notably was the one behind the balding guy at the water cooler. Some others were in the cafeteria line, but they were kinda blurry. Yes, I did watch the commercial 5-6 times before I actually noticed all of these. If you just watch the commercial without pausing, you really only notice two women; the one at the water cooler (and lunch table) and the one running into the conference room. Overall, I thought it represented your typical office personnel more than most commercials.
My favorites were the Doritos commericals, but I especially loved the one with the dog who shocked the man teasing him. I also loved the Bridgestone commerical about the wild bachelor party where the guys returned the killer whale to the sea. Casual Friday was HILARIOUS.
I laughed at Punxsatawney Polamalu. "Six more weeks of football!" The Doritos commercial with the barking dog was funny, too. Overall, I thought the commercials were a bit of a letdown this year.
