Just curious as to what some of your favorite sitcoms were from the days before reality tv:rolleyes:

I tend to watch Nick at Nite and TV land when I want a dose of comedy these days.

    Some faves;

    Three's Company

    Benson

    Soap

    Good Times

Any one else care to share?

I loved ER in the beginning. It was soo sad when mark greene died!!!

Grey's Anatomy is one of my new favorites! When I saw Dr. McDreamy, it didn't click that he was the nerd from that movie!! It wasn't until I saw a split screen (before and after) that I believed it!!!! The only problem I have with the story line is:
    1. I can't believe Denny died
    2. If Dr. McDreamy is going to be married--then he should stop looking at Meredith. If he's unsure of the marriage, then he should seperate and be alone until he's sure.

I know it wouldn't make good tv though!!!!!!!;)

I looooove George Clooney. Nice to see a handsome adult guy.

I used to love My So-Called Life. I liked Providence for a while. My two favorite shows of my whole life were Thirtysomething and Family (from the late 70's). For a couple of years there, I swear my mother watched MASH about 3 times a day. She also watches Dirty Dancing (!) every single time it is on tv. Which means once a week.

I'm looking forward to Smith for the fall.

I love the early Cosby Show sitcoms. I know them all and laugh before anything happens.

All the old lawyer/doctor/detective shows: Matlock, McMillan and Wife, Columbo, Perry Mason, Quincy...

I get excited when all the TV shows I used to watch as a kid is on (Starsky and Hutch, The Incredible Hulk, Wonder Woman, CHiPs, Dukes of Hazzard) but can usually sit through about 10 minutes of the show :).

I need to get TIVO. A lot of the shows I like are on late, and if I watch them (like ER and Medium) then I tend to stay up later.

I love our TIVO. My husband especially loves it when we're watching "America's Funniest Home Videos" and he sees something really funny. He rewinds it over and over again until he stops laughing. That's the cool thing about it.

now, i never have much free time to watch tv, so if i am spending time watching something it has to be really good...
greys anatomy (i own season 1 on dvd and can't wait for season 2)
    medium
    desperate housewives
    sopranos
    entourage
    windfall
    any law and order
    dancing with the stars
big love (i know...but you should all watch it at least once...my mom was also disgusted by the thought but watched it once...after much pleading on my part...and is now also addicted)
repeats of friends, will and grace, everybody loves raymond

i should add that i have been known to finish up last minute work in front of the tv in order to watch a certian show...and if i am at a sopranos/big love watching party (really one of the best ways to watch) i usually bring a couple of snacks, some drinks, a box of scissors/chalk/pencils/stencils and crafts that everyone needs to help cut out. its a fabulous quick way to get a large amount of crafts cut out :)

YES! I remember Once and Again and My So Called Life. I watched both pretty regularly when they were on, especially Once and Again.

    My favorite shows...

    Sitcoms:
Ones not on regularly anymore [brings back memories]:
    -Golden Girls [my ultimate favorite]
    -Designing Women
    -Full House
-BOY MEETS WORLD [yes, yes... I can't believe I forgot that one]
    -The Cosby Show
-Family Matters and Home Improvement were pretty funny when I was younger.
-Sister, Sister was a show I really enjoyed in middle school.
-Even earlier, I enjoyed Saved By The Bell and Punky Brewster.
-Laverne and Shirley, The Odd Couple, all kinds of peculiar shows... I caught re-runs when I was in middle school.

    Dramas not really on anymore:
    -Once and Again
-I used to watch some ER
-I watched Dawson's Creek sometimes in high school
    -I watched 7th Heaven a lot...
    -Oh, I really enjoyed Felicity.
-Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman was interesting when I was in middle school.

    Sitcoms now:
-I watch the line-up on ABC on Monday evenings sometimes [King of Queens, How I Met Your Mother, Two & A Half Men, and The New Adventures of Old Christine]

    Dramas now:
    -CSI
    -Without A Trace
    -Cold Case

    Reality:
-Extreme Makeover Home Edition, almost every Sunday evening
-Every once in a while, I watch something like American Idol or America's Got Talent, though I had a meltdown the other night when Piers went off on a few contestants and now I think it's all ridiculous.

I NEVER, ever liked Sex & The City, Married With Children, or The Simpsons.

Sadly, the quality of television has gone DOWN.

I remember one scene where Carol played Queen Elizabeth and she wanted popsicles. Tim Conway said they only had buffalo flavored. The way Carol said "Bufffaaalo" . Too funny!!

Or when Tim Conway started talking about the siamese elephants connected at the trunk and they could only make a snort. Carol and Harvey and Vickie were trying so hard not to laugh, but they couldn't stop themselves. So Tim kept going and going and going!!!

They played a reunion show recently and my kids went crazy for it!!!

Ok, that episode had my laughing so hard I thought I was going to split my side open. I had tears coming down my face from laughing so hard. I know I'll sound old here, but they really don't make shows like that anymore. I'm glad I was able to enjoy them w/family as a kid growing up!

No, I've never seen an entire episode of it. Just wasn't into it.

    My favorite is "Friends".
