What is your favorite item or items that you have used to decorate your house?

Mine is a table that holds a lamp with a cylindrical shade that casts soft, yellow light. The table also holds two pothos plants and a snake plant. I think the whole combination looks natural and inviting.

bGracie- I’m jealous about your plants! I was a big plant and flower person but since our latest kitty came to live with us I can’t even have flowers in the house unless they stay near me and I put them in the frig at night! She’s worth it though!

Well, that's understandable. Cats are cuddlier than plants. :D

My favorite things are the family heirlooms that I have. One is a basket that my great-great grandmother carried with her when she and her family came to Illinois from Ohio in 1870. It contained their food.

I like to decorate my refrigerator with fun magnets from vacations or trips I've been on. That's what I shop for in souvenir stores when I'm traveling-- I am very picky, and look for pretty or unique magnets that I love seeing every time I open the fridge.
It's been a couple of years since I've been on a vacation, though-- not since before covid.

I have 2 I like equally. Both are bears. 1 is a huge framed photo that a professional photographer gifted me. It is titled Flower Bear. It is a big brown grizzly standing up with a flower hanging out of her mouth.
The other is a large carved polar bear. The artist made it with the cutest sweet look on its face. It is unusual b/c I have never seen 1 with such a cute face.

I love that you don't just have a mess of magnets, but they are actually ones that you like the looks of!

The grizzly bear with a flower sounds endearing.

Yes and both were gifts. The flower bear looks like a Spanish dancer the way the flower is in her mouth.

I have some stuffed ones (a few Steiff and Hermann, but mostly others), but I have more figurines than anything else. Teddy Town, Boyd's, etc.

How cool! I had a ton of bear figurines until a feral cat got into my house a few years ago. It did so much damage to my place and knocked over and broke all but 1. I did not like that cat! It even shredded my living room curtains!

I think that I would have added a stuffed cat to my collection!

My favorite one is a tiny, three dimensional cube with mini pictures on all sides from Hearst Castle. I'm also fond of a sparkly rhinestone encrusted one from San Francisco that can also be used as a bottle opener, so it's useful, too:D

My favorite decor is my collection of vintage landscape prints that I found in various antique shops in my travels. All by the same artist. They cover the wall behind our bed and make the room so serene.

That sounds so nice! You can "travel" just by looking at the prints.

I made a fall wreath last year and am using it this year also. I bought one sparsely decorated then added lots of extra leaves, glittery pinecones, etc. I tied a big orange bow on the front. It looks really nice.

My two most prized possessions are two antique sewing machines. I have them sitting in my living room. I use them as end tables for my couch. One belonged to my great grandmother and the other one we just acquired somehow. I am not really sure how. I also have one canister left from my grandmother's tupperware canister set. And a cookie jar my grandmother gave to me as a wedding present 30's years ago. I also have a little dish that looks like a turkey that my grandmother used for cranberry sauce or olives at Thanksgiving. My other grandmother was an artist and I have several of her paintings. Come to think of it I have lots of things from my grandmothers that nobody else wanted but I have them. They are all special to me.
