What is your favorite pen to use when correcting papers? I love the Uniball Jetstream and Uniball Vision Elite pens. Just curious what others like!
I use pens of varying colors, including yellow. The Uniballs are okay. I also like Flair felt-tip pens. Interestingly, I rarely use red!
Any color but red (we aren't allowed to correct in red because it "sends a negative message".) but I have recently become obsessed with zebra sarasa pens.
I remember them from A LONG time ago when I was in elementary...did they disappear for a while? When I rediscovered them, I kept obsessing about how much I them so dh went out and bought me a rainbow pack.
I love those mullticolor pen packs. My fav color to grade in is a medium green with purple and pink coming in as my second fav colors to use.
I miss Flairs. Can they be purchased at Office Depot, etc? The red pens provided by my district are felt, but they lose their "sharpness" so quickly it's laughable. I'm going to look into finding Flairs and guard them with my life!
I don't do well with flairs because I press too hard when I write! I see them all the time in Staples.
I love colors, too! I use whatever is handy. I love the color Sharpie pens (purple & orange are fav's of mine). I also have the rainbow pack of Flair pens. I keep the Sharpie permanent markers on hand, as well in the 24 color pack! (not for grading, though).
I like the G2 pens. Purple is my favorite color to grade with. I don't think there is any item I protect more in my classroom than those pens!
I like these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001GAOTUK/ref=mp_s_a_1_20?qid=1374975548&sr=8-20&pi=AC_SX110_SY190 Only bad thing is sometimes I get ink on my hands.(which drives me nuts.)
I love Flairs, Staedtlars and G2 pens. I usually correct in any color except for black and blue (unless it is a light blue).
I like using the skinny Crayola markers or Flair pens, but both tend to bleed through papers... so I often end up using whatever other pen is lying around.
Interesting to see so many people loving Flair pens. Is this what your talking about: http://www.amazon.com/Paper-Mate-Po...TF8&qid=1374987761&sr=8-1&keywords=flair+pens
DrivingPigeon, have you found a source that sells boxes of just purple Flair pens? Or do you just take them from the assorted pack? Edit: Never mind, I found them on Amazon.
Funny, this thread brought back a flashback to my elementary school days. I remember all of my teachers used to have red pens that had these thin white lines going down them, with white caps. I wonder what happened to those pens? It's weird how sometimes you just remember random things!
I forgot - I also use fine-tipped highlighters of different colors! They don't bleed through the papers.
I use red and green pens almost exclusively to grade papers. I have a lot of different pens, but I tend to use my Bic 4-color (red, green, black, blue), my flair pens, uniballs, and Pilot G-2s the most.
Fine point Vis-a-Vis are great for correcting primary spelling tests, work books etc. and they don't bleed through like some of the others.
http://t.staples.com/skava/static/p...Assorted-8-Pack/product_648186?t=yes"]}&t=yes I like these. I generally use green when grading papers. I'm a little obsessed with pens, but I think I'm the only one here who doesn't like Flair pens. They have too much drag on them and its like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Mostly purple and green. I use purple flairs and pens, G2, papermate blue, highlighters. SHarpies bleed through too much. Depending on the paper quality, flairs can bleed too.
I absolutely agree! Can't stand that feel/sound. It makes my teeth hurt! Also - being left handed, any marker type ink turns the side of my hand colors super quick. I use whatever is handy -- usually red or purple Bics. I tried to get away from using red pen, but truthfully, orange, green and purple slow me down. The marks don't stand out as much as red and makes it take longer to count up the number wrong.
