What are some of your favorite sayings for back to school and generic bulletin boards throughout the year? I am trying to come up with a few sayings/ideas that I can put up and leave for a majority of the year. So that I can just change out the student's work...

I am doing a frog theme and so far this is what I have...

"Hop into 2nd grade" (with the student names on little frog cut outs and "mrs. s's pad" on a big frog)

"2nd grade is hopping with creativity!"

    "Mrs. S's Pad is frog-tastic!"

What are some of your favorite sayings to use on a bulletin board? Let's start a list so we can all get some more ideas!

This is my favorite back to school board idea.

I change the boards a lot, but I like to use quotes as titles too.

    Two of my favorites are...

    *"Mrs. ____'s Grape Bunch"
I use purple balloons and green/brown curling ribbon, gather the balloons into what looks like a bunch of grapes, and staple them (CAREFULLY!!) to the bulletin board. Each grape has a student's name written on it.

    *"Taco Bout a Great Class"
I personalize a taco for each student in my class and attach them to my bulletin board. To make the tacos I use...
taco shell - yellow/gold felt cut into a circle
meat - brown crinkle paper (like gift bag filler)
    lettuce - green crinkle paper
    tomatoes - red pom poms
cheese - either yellow/orange yarn or pipe cleaners

To put them together, use craft glue all over the inside of the felt circle and add meat/lettuce and fold to look "taco-y". When that dries, add more glue to the top and decorate with your tomatoes and cheese. Messy, but way fun!!!!:thumb:

I am going to use "Every child is an artist" on one of my boards this year - a quote from Pablo Picasso because it will work with just about anything and is so true. "Look what we've been learning" is another generic one that can stay up. I've done a "Pride Wall" before with a space for each student's work.

Let us know what you decide so we can "steal" your ideas!

These are good ideas so far... :) In student teaching I made a generic one that said "check out our creativity" I liked it, but didn't love it... Keep the ideas coming! haha

I made a display in the hallway for Open House, and ended up leaving it all year for the reminder:

    Cool Tools for School
Border with supplies on it (Dollar Tree)
Photos of all of the supplies from the 4th grade supply list

I saved it so I could use it again this year.

When I student taught, I did the autumn BB in our hall, "We're Falling Into Great Books!" and had orange, brown, & gold leaves with student book reviews glued to them randomly spread all over the board.

One of my goals for this year is to get more student work on the walls. This can be tricky because I'm a pull-out teacher with multiple (last year I had K, 2nd, 3rd and 4th) classes of different grades over the course of the day and wall space is always at a premium. Looking forward to seeing everyone's ideas!

My favorite back to school board is entitled "Quack, Quack, Look Who's Back." I make a little pond with blue paper for the water and green paper for the grass. Then I cut out little ducks and put the kids' names on them, and then make a big duck to be me! I always hate to take it down because it's so cute!

Since your last name begins with the letter 's', how about Mrs. S's Superstars! You can have their names written on little stars!

Every year, I use "Mr A's All-Stars." The kids always love it.

Amazing how your memory slips, lol! I didn't use the word "great," and the book reviews were separate from the leaves, but here's a pic of how it came out. My cooperating teacher liked it, lol.

I created a bulletin that stated: " What good readers do!"

and listed different reading strategies on book die cuts.

I have two music bulletin boards that I made for college classes that I absolutely love.

    1. "Symphony in Sea Major" The background is blue (like the ocean) and the figures are fish playing musical instruments. I also put sand paper on the bottom of the board and shells.

    2. "Wanted! Fine Musicians" The background is red with a big western cowboy figure with a rope lasso around the words.

I do an "under the sea" theme with a bulletin board that says "Swimming Into First Grade". I have a large fish with my name on it, with smaller fish "swimming" beneath my fish that have my students' names on them. I'm looking for a cuter saying.
