    I make greeting cards as a personal hobby, & have many rubber stamps, etc. I always design a couple cards and we spend time making two cards. They're sweet and are more complicated than just folding paper in half and drawing their own card.

    Get them to bring in a plain white t-shirt; Dad's size...
    ...Get those clothes markers and have them decorate the shirts for their Dads.
    What Dad won't like wearing a shirt done by their kid?

    I'd make certain all your students have dads first... I could imagine this being very painful for some students.
