Haha, no silly you can't get rid of me that easy!

But, I did have a big farewell tonight. I grew up in the same school, K-12, have lived in the same town my whole life, and after college I worked in that school for several years. My kids started school there, and are now in 8th, 3rd, and PreK.

Next year, they will be changing schools. I now work in a different town, as does my hubby, so for simplicity's sake they will be going to the school in that town.

Tonight was the LAST event-my daughter graduated from 8th grade. As I sat there in the gym, looking up at the sports banners and around at people I've known my whole life, I just got choked up. It's like leaving home. :(

I'm excited for my kids, this will be a good move in that the new school offers a lot more opportunities, but wow...it is hard. I could not bring myself to say good bye to the P, my former boss, my friend. I would have lost it. Lost it.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I had to get this out!

:hugs: I know it was a tough decision to make and a bit bittersweet.

Thanks all! It's strange because schools here are interconnected in a love/hate kind of way. Rivals, but need each other. Hard to explain. Students moving schools is not always looked upon favorably, at least by the school losing the kids. Every kid counts in a small rural school, kwim?

But it's necessary! It's emotional, but you don't get into college on emotions...

Good luck to all of you! Sounds like a good, but hard, decision.
