It's that time again! What NEW shows will you be watching? I have waaaay too little DVR recording space. I need 3x's as much! Here's my NEW show list (on top of the unteen others I watch): Terra Nova Hart of Dixie Ringer Unforgettable Revenge Person of Interest Prime Suspect Grimm Scandal The River Missing Fashion Star Awake The Frame Remodelled The Secret Circle Fear Factor (will be returning) The Lying Game (recently started) Take the Money & Run (recently started)
Almost none of the new shows interest me. I plan to watch Up All Night and Prime Suspect, and that's it that's new. Most of the old shows that I watch are gradually being cancelled over the years, and I'm just not liking the new ones.
Ms.I, what do you think of The Lying Game?? I was going to watch it online this weekend if I have time.
I'm looking forward to Terra Nova and Person of Interest and the return of Modern Family and Fringe. That's about it.
Terra Nova looks interesting. I might watch The Secret Circle to see what's it about. Not sure if I'll keep up with it. I also really like the previews for Up All Night.
I'm a little suprised that they'd put on a show written by the same author as Pretty Little Liars that's also airing on the same channel, so I guess shows about lying are "in" righ now. I've been behind on The Lying Game. I've been DVRing every episode & finally watchede the pilot yesterday, so I've got 4-5 more eps to be caught up. Just from watching the 1st ep though, I'm intrigued & will keep watching.
Terra Nova, if I have time. I've been watching Alphas -- one of the characters is autistic, and the actor spent a fair bit of time working with autistic people to improve his portrayal. He does a pretty good job. My DVR is mostly full of other things, though -- Pythagoras Switch, Anpanman, various NHK specials.
I'm anxious for Amazing Race to return but looking forward to Pan Am too (which is amazing since I usually go for the sitcoms). A couple of other new shows look interesting but I'm concerned that the funniest lines are in the commercials. I'd better start paying attention to the titles.
Here are the shows that BF and I watch. I made us a list bc we always forget when our shows are on! lol The only thing I'm trying to figure out is the timing. I think that if a show airs at 8p.m. EST, we get it starting at 7p.m. (I say that bc the premere of Parenthood is tonight at 10pm and it comes on at 9)-- I guess I'll have to use the guide for a little while so we don't miss any shows! I gave my DVR back to the cable company because I never used it. My tv watching consists of flipping channels until something interesting pops up. I don't have any shows that I watch on a regular basis.
Chrissteeena, I have a schedule typed up too & as each new season comes up, I highlight the date in red when it starts. As the date passes, I change the color to black. If it's upcoming in the distant future, the date's in another color.
I don't care enough about television to really plan to watch anything. I don't have a DVR. I'll channel surf, or I'll just put it on a channel and leave it. I always do something else while the television is on, so my full attention is never on it. I've been entering grades tonight, and I've had the television on Auction Kings and Billy the Exterminator tonight. I'll watch the news headlines at 11:00. I probably will watch Gene Simmons' Family Jewels. I've always loved him, and I've seen Kiss perform at least 5 times, both with and without make-up. Most of the shows I watch are often on in reruns, so I'll not bother to make a point to watch it on the first showing.
lol. BF made me do it! He even emailed me to let me know I had forgotten a show and had to add it to the list.
Lately I'm lucky if I watch the news these days. I do watch a movie or two on the movie channels on the weekends.
Awake looks absolutely amazing. For those who have not seen the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfPVoiQKFvk
See, I've never thought of it that way. Just sitting only watching television send like a waste of time. I've always had to be doing something else at the same time. The TV is always on when I'm home, but it's rare that I will just sit there and watch unless I'm sick. My mom doesn't even have a television. My grandparents didn't have one either. Guess it's all what you're used to.
I love to watch tv from time to time. I'm rarely doing just that though. I can't sit still and do nothing but watch tv. Ironically I have to watch captions. Usually I'm on the computer at the same time or I used to plan lessons, etc. I might MOSTLY watch tv. but to sit there and ONLY watch tv is hard to do. My mind needs something else to wander to. Lately I've been hooked into Korean Dramas. I know I keep repeating that, but seriously loving them right now (on hulu). Then I go to dramabeans website and read their blog take on each episode. It walks through it scene by scene and summarizes it and there are lots of comments after the post. I go back and forth. Fun!
Maybe some of you who can't sit and just do nothing while watching TV need a more comfy couch. I look forward to the opportunities I get to just sit and watch and not think about anything else.
My mother was a stewardess during the time of the show PanAm so she wants to watch it to point out all the mistakes
I found it hilarious to, but I agree with him to an extent, as TV is a great relaxation tool to help wind down at the end of the day. Just sit down for an hour or two, watch some Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune at 7, then watch something at 8. Record shows on at 9 and 10 to watch later.
Personally, I couldn't function without my DVR. Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but I really really like it. I DVR shows, and after my kids go to bed and my husband is dozing on the couch (or, even better, dozing in bed and not snoring!) it is quiet blissful me time. I watch: Amazing Race Law and Order: SVU Grey's Anatomy Project Runway Dancing with the Stars I like to catch 20/20 or Dateline if nothing else is on. I want to start watching: Pan Am The X Factor
I record shows during the week, and then enjoy watching them on Saturday mornings when I'm enjoying a couple hours of lazy pajamas/coffee/couch time.
I'm not sure what was funny about it ??? It is quite relaxing and a great way to lose yourself. Unless it was the couch comment.
Grey's Anatomy Private Practice Boardwalk Empire Parenthood PanAm (maybe) Up All Night I'm sure there are more shows, but that's all I can think of right now.
http://www.thefutoncritic.com/reviews/ Reviews of shows. The guy is good at predicting which shows will be liked/not liked. Here is what he thought about Pan Am (Based on the original sales presentation, so he got a private or third party screening): http://www.thefutoncritic.com/revie...-first-look-pan-am-abc-940313/20110614_panam/ Essentially it's not his cup of tea and it will most likely be heavily compared to Mad Men due to being in the same time period
I'm a tv junkie as well...which is funny because I used to be totally the opposite. I literally didn't even have a tv for most of college...my senior year I discovered that I could keep up with things from hulu and that's how I got addicted to a bunch of shows. Also student teaching (and now real teaching of course) it's not like I really have time to go out and do things during the week, so tv is my way of relaxing. I also find that I can't always just sit and watch it...I'm usually on my computer or something as well. As for new shows, I kind of like The Lying Game, but I don't think I'm going to actively look for anything else- I already watch a lot! Here's what I currently watch- The Big Bang Theory Bones Psych Pretty Little Liars The Lying Game Chuck Grey's Anatomy Private Practice Glee House I also LOVE The Daily Show and Colbert Report, but those are things I mostly just leave on while I'm working on school work or doing something else...it's funny to have as background but it's not like you have to sit glued to the tv to follow a plot or something.
I can certainly sit & just watch w/o any other distractions. I do this w/ all the new episodes I watch. If it's the news, HSN, or QVC, I'm on the computer many times too.
Anyone excited for Person of Interest starring Michael Emerson? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK4YuIf2cIg
I just started watching some new shows. I watched all of the episodes of Revenge on Hulu and I love it! I can't wait to see who gets it next! I also saw the first 2 episodes of American Horror Story. There's just so much going on in that show that I found it exhausting to watch LOL Has anyone else seen it??
