    Your school have that problem?

Here I am again, the ONLY teacher here (we have a small staff at the high school, and the vocational guys play this game to a lot). 9 times out of 10 they're faking - they've told me so. "Use 'em up or lose 'em!"

I guess maybe I was raised different, but I don't get it when people have been on a job for a long time and use their "sick day" soon as they get a new one. I'm not trying to paint myself out as Mr. Working Class Hero, but I have 1600-plus hours of sick time built up and save my personal days for the winter (we don't get snow days) in the event the roads are terrible.

Besides, life is uncertain and I can't afford to go without a paycheck - I may need those sick days for real.

    I guess it's just something I can't feature.

Oh, I remember talking to a lot of principals over the years in my other jobs and they say they have teachers with well over 20 years and NO sick time built up.
