It's only inservice week but I've almost been brought to tears with all the gracious help and assistance that other teachers and admin have been providing me. I needed someone to paper and border my two bulletin boards and they called over to the HS to get some volunteers to help me! I needed my doors partially covered so someone came over the next day and did that for me! Janitors left a supply of teacher stuff (tape, markers, pencils, pens, post-its, etc....) on my desk because they knew I wouldn't be getting any school funds until October. Everyone has welcomed me! I feel so fortunate! :D

That's great and all, but be careful being perceived as someone who always needs help. "someone to paper and border" the bulletin boards? Seems...idk...helpless? I have an entire room to clean, decorate and organize (let's just say the previous teacher wasn't exactly into cleanliness), it's self-contained so there's tons of stuff to put on the walls and such as well. We have had training all week; yet I've gotten a LOT of my own work done and don't expect anyone else to do it but me.

That is great! Be sure to do the same for the next new teacher that comes along!

Bagels or donuts for the staff as a sign of your appreciation is in order :)
