That you know is terrible, yet whenever it's on TV, you know you're going to watch..the whole thing.... Mine just came on: Center Stage What's yours?
I've committed to some random Lifetime movies that I knew had little promise, but there are no movies I know are horrible but I watch anyhow. Never heard of Center Stage.
My all time favorite clunker is "The Crawling Hand", a really old science fiction story. When I was a young child I saw that movie at the drive in and couldn't sleep in my bedroom without the lights on for months. I also had to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed! That trip to the movies was certainly not one of my father's best decisions! You will have to watch the movie to find out why. (Don't want to give any details away).
Wages of Fear: French, 1953, Yves Montand, Charles Vanel - I can't walk away when it comes on, and I rent it about once a year. I don't know that it's "terrible," but the premise: four men drive trucks loaded with explosives along a lousy South American road. Not promising, is it?
My sister would probably say Center Stage too. I love It Could Happen to You. It's not a great movie but I could watch it over and over again. I have also watched Overboard a bajillion times on tv. We actually enjoy watching bad movies and making fun of them, a la Mystery Science Theater 3000. My favorite one was Road House with Patrick Swayze. There were four of us just doing a running commentary about how ridiculous the movie was throughout the whole thing. I laughed SO HARD that night. Sometimes you just need mindless entertainment. We have "stupid tv night" at my house on Thursdays. There is nothing else on that we like and we are usually fried on Thursday nights, so we just put on something like "World's Dumbest" on tru tv and drool on ourselves. lol
This is mine too. It's just so BAD!! Another one that my husband makes me watch every time it comes on is The Replacements with Keanu Reeves.
STG... we love the Replacements. We watch it whenever it's on as well!!! Is Center Stage about people making it to broadway?!?!? I think I've seen it just don't remember. We watch the Nicholas Sparks movies...but we own a few of them and he's my fave to read!!!
Diznee-It's about a group of young adults trying to make it into the American Ballet Company. A LOT of cheese, but I love it. Silverspoon I do that too! Just recently my girlfriends and I rented the new Footloose movie. Dear god it was horrible, but we knew that going in and watch the whole thing...even sang the song once it came on. I agree-there are those times where you just need it! Dirty Dancing however has my all time favorite quote...who can guess???
I think I've see it at few times. Don't they all live in one apt for awhile because they are broke?!?! LOL!!! I agree... new Footloose not as good as the original. I think the dancers do just that dance...whereas Kevin Bacon made it look like it was something he just felt and did it.
Any ridic monster movie that is SO bad its awesome....such as 2 headed shark attack. Oh and Phantom of the Opera!! Love POTO
Love, love, LOVE Phantom of the Opera!!!!!! Love the music! Ohhhhh, I didn't know he played in it. I'll have to track that one down. I LOVE that man!
I get sucked in to teen angst movies .....Bring it On, Mean Girls.....garbage like that. Oh, and there used to be a movie where she was a figure skater and he was a washed up hockey player....can't remember the name....that one used to suck me in too!
YES. I cannot be dragged away from the TV when it's on. I'll also say Dirty Dancing, and add Sweet Home Alabama. Not that they're bad - but whenever any of the Bourne movies are on, we watch them. We OWN the darn movies, but we'll always stop and watch them on TV.
LOVE CUTTING EDGE!!!! TOE PICK!!!! Not a bad one...but The Holiday is one we always watch when it's on.
I have several of those on my list. I watch them every time. Pretty Woman Dirty Dancing Coal Miner's Daughter
I feel like I need to add some movies to my list. I didnt mean to infer that they were bad per say, but definitely not Oscar worthy performances. Speaking of, I'm about to watch The Vow...
The Prince and Me -about a Danish prince who goes to college in Wisconsin and falls in love. Save the Last Dance with Julia Stiles - she plays a dancer who ends up at an inner city school
Yes and yes. Gerard Butler will marry me someday. He just doesn't know it yet. A lot of people didn't like him in it because he's not a trained singer, but he was my first exposure to Phantom so I have to love him lots ^_^ IF you love Phantom I would HIGHLY suggest going and buying the 25th anniversary DVD performance at the Royal Albert Hall--it's beautiful and stunning and I cried my eyes out watching it.
Mary...love Save the Last Dance.... I agree with Pretty Woman...not horrible...but to watch it like 200 times a yr gets kinda old...LOL!!! I think I know the words by heart!!! Movies with Reese Witherspoon we watch...Sweet Home Alabama, Legally Blonde (Can't Do Legally Blonde 2). Again not horrible.
Oh my gosh...I LOVE King of Queens and wanted to like that movie, but couldn't! I was in a bad mood, I recall, but I didn't even finish watching it.
I saw the 25th anniversary performance...so beautiful!! And Gerard Butler is already spoken for...sorry!
If he does marry you then he better be a polygamist! Haha jk I've always loved Phantom so I'll watch anything. I think he did a fine job, except for one note in Music of the Night that he just did NOT make!
