All the time - I take it as a term of endearment!
I teach 11-19 year olds and get called mom more than you would think. It happens more with the younger kids, but the older kids have done it before.
When I taught special ed. at one school, one class consistently called me mom by accident. Then they saw the Family Guy episode where Stewie goes "mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mommy? mommmy? mom? mamma?, mom, mom, mom" and they thought it was so funny so they kept doing it.
All the time w/ 2nd graders. Sometimes they get a little embarrassed when they realize it. I always tell them it's no problem, but if they call me grandma then they better watch out (in a joking way, of course).

Yup! I think they get embarrassed, too (I have K-3 kids this year, but have had 4-5th graders call me that, too). And I'm not even old enough to be their parent! The kicker was the one day when a student called me "Grandpa," though...
Not mom but I have been called dad on more than a few occassions, usually the child (I teach 11 to 16 year olds) realises wha they have said and get really embarrassed. I usually counter with 'if I were your dad I would have stopped your allowance by now'!
One particular student did it regularly and to add to the problem her mom was a teacher at the same school. This caused no end of whispers amongst the rest of the kids!
often and I teach 4th graders... Although, I tell them I answer to pretty much anything...there is a TA in 3rd grade that I get called by her name quite often...but the kids say we look very similar. I don't mind at all...it really doesn't even phase me, I just answer their question and move along.

Yep...mom, mommy, auntie...
I've also had a mom tell me that her child (my student) would accidentally call her my name.

I was called mom once this past week.
I was called mom yesterday by a 7th grader!
When I taught first, I got called mom at least once a day... in fifth it doesn't happen as regularly, but it happened yesterday so this thread made me smile!
Yup I've been Mommed.
This year, I keep getting called by my Aide's name she keeps getting called by mine.
Yes! All the time. My students are 9 and 10 years old and they do it and then laugh hysterically at the themselves. I find it quite entertaining.
Usually I get the name of another one of their teachers, but I've gotten Mom a few times. I teach middle school. The first time it ever happened, it was a 13 year old "cool" boy who was mortified that he called me Mom and the other kids teased him about it a lot.
Separate names with a comma.
