Does anyone have any experience with selling on Etsy? Pros? Cons? Experiences? Alternatives?

I've made several things over the last few years with no real venue to sell them and Etsy seems like something that may work. I'm looking for some informed opinions.

I have a few friends that sell stuff on Etsy as a side business. I think it's good to start small, advertise to friends and relatives, and see where it goes :)

I love Etsy! It's where I bought my husband's wedding ring!

My husband sells some things on Etsy--he hasn't had any complaints. Ebay has been more lucrative for him, but he doesn't make things--he resells clothes.

Go for it! The worst that can happen is you don't sell anything. =) It seems easy, from what I've seen. Good luck.

I am absolutely addicted to shopping on Etsy :)

I've just recently started up a graphic design shop there. I haven't sold anything yet, but I don't have much inventory.

I picked up a Kindle book on selling on Etsy, more out of curiosity than anything. It looks interesting, though!
