I want one. BAD. I have wanted one, but as we get closer to the school year, I want one even more!
I REALLY need a sale! I can't imaging spending that much on a planner.

This code takes 10% off your order : 2012OFF

However, shipping starts at $8, so that stinks!

Yeah, I saw the code. I am hoping that a $10 off, or a groupon comes out....

It seems like you could customize something similar to that on Vistaprint for way cheaper.

$50 is a lot for a planner! Not sure I would be ever able to justify spending that.

This kind of stuff is so alien to me! Is there a reason that those of you that use these planners prefer that format to online resources that do the same thing? I mean, if I didn't have my iPhone linked to my Google calendar, gmail, school email and school calendar sending me daily reminders, I would be a lost soul. LOL!

I have a cozi calendar on my phone that DH and I have linked together that I use for things that affect us, like late meetings, etc... but I use my paper planner for all the school day stuff - 9am - ARD, Principal's meeting 9/4, field trip 9/16 12-2, or whatever. It is the hour by hour stuff that gets to be too much on my phone calendar.

I use my iPad and phone for scheduling, etc, but I use Bienfang annotated sketchbooks for lesson planning. I like being able to draw sketches for lesson materials or what I'll put on the board. I could do this on my iPad, but I like the sketchbooks and art markers. It is very free form though; I hate forms and templates.

Giraffe: you are anticipating a rough year, right? Will the planner make you happy and add a bit of pleasure to your day? If so, I'd spend the $50 since its as much a quality of life item as a useful tool. This is the same rationale I use for my fancy markers. They make my tasks much more pleasant each and every day. $50 is a lot for a planner, but probably not a lot for a daily use item that will add some small joy to your day throughout the year.

I am determined to have a FABULOUS year. However, others seem to think I will not.

This is a little sad, but they are thinking about giving us a stipend again for our classrooms. Anything I buy has to stay within the district, and I will be making every effort to leave at the end of the school year. So, if we get a stipend, I plan on spending part of mine on a planner. I will probably cave and buy it anyway. I'm hoping for a better coupon!

(Note: I prefer to buy non-consumable things with my own money, so it is not like my students will be lacking because I spent half of my supply money on a planner. I wanted to point that out before someone thought I was horrible and selfish!)

Why are they so expensive???? What's so special about them? I had the free planner from Lakeshore last year and I barely used it because the boxes weren't big enough for me to write what I needed to do and I have to type up full lesson plans anyways.

(We do parallel teaching so when I sit down w/ my co-teacher we discuss who's teaching large/small, which kids are in the small, what the lesson is, how it will be differentiated, it was just easier to use a notebook and then type my lessons!)

I like the way they are set up on the inside. It has everything in one book!
    Plus, they are super cute!

Well I'm one to splurge on something if I like it and I know I'll get a lot of use out of it. I bought a pair of flats that were $200 that I LOVED and wore at least twice a week for 3 years. They're a wreck now and I'm going to buy a new pair before the school year. So if you think you're going to get a ton of use out of this book, then I say why not? I know I'll use a planner up until the beginning November and then I'll probably just end up doing everything in a notebook or something because that's just the way I am. So it wouldn't be worth it for me. But the covers are cute!

I would spend $50 on a cute planner a hundred times over before I would spend $200 on a purse, shoes, jeans, etc.. Whatever makes you happy. :)

I also have an obsession with my name being on things. My first and last name are both very, very rare. So I was never able to have things with my name on it.
This is why I have an obsession with 31 bags.

I have a really cute personal planner that I personalized myself. People pick on me over my obsession with having my name on things. I bought a $12 planner with a clear cover, and I used scrapbooking supplies to decorate it.

Growing up with so many siblings and kids in the house (daycare), I always personalized my things! I got smart, too: the sister closest to me in age often got the same toys I did, so I wrote my name on both toys. Of course they'd go missing as all our things did, and when one showed up again I could claim it because it had my name. Lol. :)

Giraffe, I'm with you. I really want one of these. I am thinking of rewarding all myself for all my hard work from getting a job...but it's still $50!!!!!! I can't decide.

Also, I'd want more of the checklist papers (for grades) so that adds to the price even more!

Giraffe, which one is your favorite? I'm stuck between 3....

As I've gotten older, I've realized that it's okay to spend a little more on something for myself if it will make me happy. If you love it and it's in your budget, go for it!

I had to add more checklist papers, too.

I liked so many of them, too. Especially when you can customize your color. I went with the fleur-felize in Coral.

I like all the fleur-felize colors/patterns. If you go to her regular planner page, you can see full versions of some of the colors and patterns. I almost went with the candy lace pattern in mocha.
Actually, the peace and flower patterns are really the only ones I DON'T like!

They are cute. We have to put all of our lesson plans online. We have to use a certain template. So, I don't think it would be worth the $ for me.

I saw that yesterday. I should have waited! I could have gotten a free set of pens! I am a pen addict! Oh well. I really don't think they look all that special, or I would be mad. LOL.

They have REALLY good sales in May/June for next year. Like 25% off.

Ok, I'm frustrated. I found yet another code, $20 off, code TINYORANGES. It worked -- until I deleted something from my cart, now it won't honor the code. Just emailed the company. Perhaps this code will work for someone else.

I tried the tinyoranges code, and it would never work for me. It showed up, but the discount was $0.00.

I'm so frustrated it worked then didn't. I kindly told the staff in my email that this coupon code was make-or-break in my decision to order, so we'll see ;)

Cute planner. But, I just never use planners. I have a large desk calender that I use and it works fine for me.

I recently bought one and I love it. I've never actually used a planner before - just a regular calendar and a steno pad.

I got the "favorite things" design. I was able to add my own text, so the covers are full of a list of things I love. I mostly went with things that remind me of my son: his first sentence, nicknames, words he used to call things when he was little, things we do together.

It makes me smile every time I look at it. The price was worth it (it was a splurge for me).

The quality of the planner is excellent and I love how sturdy it is. I have plenty of room to write everything I need.

The favorite things cover IS really cute. However, if you can live without the personalization, I think the ones on this site offer pretty much every thing else those do. http://timemine.com/

    It's showing as printed :D
I hope it ships soon! When I ordered it, it said it would probably ship on the 14th. I go back the 15th, but our back-to-school staff meeting is the 16th (it is normally our first day back). So, I hope to have it by then so I can write all the important stuff in it!!!!

I know this is an old topic, but I've also been wanting one of these for awhile and managed to win a $100 check for a survey I completed and decided to go for it! I can't wait to receive it, it shipped 2 days ago.

Also, if you order in the month of May you get 25% off all teacher items! Code: weloveteachers

I debated on whether or not to let people know they were 25% off. The have updated them and I am SUPER EXCITED!!! They have super cute new covers, too!!
Only problem... I'm looking for a new job, so I don't know where I will be teaching. I plan on ordering on the 31st, with just my name and school year. I doubt I will have a job by the 31st, so no school name for me....

I am super excited too, I love the updates of more checklists, the plastic page protectors, and of course TABS!!!
I think that's a great idea to order it without school name, it's only a small thing. I got the new chalkboard one.

I bought a life planner in November and I absolutely love it! I am contemplating getting the Lesson Plan book as shipping and handling to Canada is over $40. I'm hoping to talk another teacher at my school into buying one so we could split the s&h. Even though I'm returning to my school, I don't think that I will be getting my school name on mine...I really don't like my school anymore and don't want to advertise it:whistle:
